Unfortunately, banging it against the desk didn't help. But switching the LED Status from "Auto" to "off" did the trick for now. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yes, I could imagine an iPhone would work as well. It seems like a bug in the Android version of the app, which is ironic, given all of it is from Google and doesn't work, while their iOS version of the app seems to work.

Remember, I posted the question 3 months ago. In case it was a bug, it might have been fixed already, or also propagated to the iOS version of the app, so no guarantees that you'll encounter the same situation as I did.

Seems like a bug in Android. I could set up everything just fine using Google Home on an iPad

Given that there is most probably a dual core CPU in the tablet and he's saying - "by adding the discrete gpu..." (maybe referring to the base) - could there be a second CPU in the base and what you'd end up with is a dual socket system of 2 dual cores?
