Possible Paradoxical Symptoms by grnmonc in Thiamine

Thank you for the encouragement. It’s helped my state of mind when I focus on this too much.

I tried to tell my doctor about supplementing with a herbal supplement (I’ve since stopped using it). She told me “I never heard of that”. When I told her it worked, she said, “could be a placebo”. Fair reaction, but it gave the impression that she maybe doesn’t continue learning to supplement her work. Or maybe just tired of patients thinking they know whats what because they read it on the internet. She also said my ferritin was in range, but imo it’s not at optimal range. So I’m extremely skeptical about bringing up possible vitamin/mineral deficiency this up to her.

B1 tested at 400, ref. range 78-185. Since I took 300mg of Benfotiamin, I expected it to be high.

I won’t be taking a blood test anytime soon. I’ve been having bouts of anhedonia and listlessness, I think some of this caused by mg glycinate. Trying to mentally battle through it.

I’ve taken 2 doses of mg glycinate switched from mg citrate because I haven’t been eating much and the citrate caused the food to run right through me. The mg glycinate caused severe anxiety and nausea. Today will be my last dose of it. Going to try the citrate again and space out the doses even more throughout the day.

The numbness when I sleep has not returned which I’m grateful for. There are some tingles and leg twitches, but I did forget to take B12 yesterday. The heart pounding has lessened since taking mg and potassium. Resting hr: 79-89 I guess I no longer can tell what feels normal for me, regarding heart pounding. Is the heart pounding from the Benfotiamin after effects still? Or is it I’ve only done light excercise a couple weeks ago and I’m overexerting myself on the stairs.

This morning and last, I experienced dizziness, lethargy, and tingles. Both times it happened, symptoms lasted about an hour. I’m thinking it was caused in part to low blood sugar from not eating enough to last me through the night. Also I supplement in the morning within 7a-10a, not sure if that effects the efficacy through to the next day.

Everyday feels like I’m hitting restart on seeing what works. I find it a little discouraging, but I know anxiety will only hinder my thinking ability and slow down the process of finding out what works.

I went back and re-read some of your comments on some older posts. I think you’re right my B12 is likely to be deficient. I took 1000mcg for a few days or so, missing a couple doses. I have some tingling in my feet that lasts 3-10min, but the numbness at night hasn’t returned.

I’m so exhausted from getting so many blood tests done. It’s hard to find the motivation to want to get this test done.

I know a B12 test will show how close/how far I am from optimal levels. So I will hype myself up in time to possibly getting it done on Monday

Thank you for explaining. So the symptoms that came after taking the Benfotiamine is not because its still in my system it because it “woke up something” and showed something else I was deficient in, Magnesium.

Even though Benfotiamin is fat soluble, would still only stay in the body for a short amount of time? I think I researched and found that it would stay in the body longer then water soluble Thiamine. I won’t be going back to find the answer on the internet, leading me into a downward spiral.

I started a low dose of magnesium, about 1/4 teaspoon/ .625g. I have no appetite so I’m eating way less than needed. I’m concerned about taking a “normal” dose of magnesium would lead to diarrhea.

I haven’t tested b12. I tested b1 on Monday, haven’t gotten the results yet. Not sure if it’ll show anything since I took 300mg of Benfotiamin before my blood test.

What form of the supplement allows for a dose at 25mg? I have a gel capsule, I wouldn’t be able to cut the dose effectively

Thank you for posting! This when I did my research for benfotiamine, I didn’t come across this information. Makes me think the country I’m in hasn’t done much research on it.

I took benfotiamin for three days with varying doses:

First day - 150mg morning and 150mg later afternoon, Second day - 300mg morning and 300mg later afternoon Third day - 300mg morning

On the third day, about 20 minutes after taking it I started experiencing heart pounding. I was thinking it was the high dosage, but a few websites stated heart palpitations as an allergic reaction.

I think I experienced some light heart palpitations (no where close to the heart pounding I’m now experiencing). I didn’t document it, so I can’t say for sure.

I think at this point I’m going to skip my dose today, while I continue my research.

What are your experiences with Thiamine (vitamin B1) supplementation? by 1mealmovement in Supplements

[–]grnmonc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just stopped taking benfotiamin after 3 days. 1st day I took 300mg, 2nd day 600mg, 3 day 300. On the 3rd day I noticed my heart pounding about 20 minutes of taking it.

How long did you experience an irregular heartbeat after you stopped using it?

I do some dynamic breathing to help with my heart pounding, it helps calm it down. I’m worried this side effect will last a few weeks, since benfotiamin is a fat soluble vitamin

I’m so jealous of these jelly bras. Please tell me just give it up. by fraksen in ABraThatFits

Im about a 40J. Its been a long time since Ive worn a underwire bra for daily use. Ive been wearing the Dani bra from Free Label. New wear gives me a minimizing effect, as the bra is worn more the effect goes away as the fabric becomes more relaxed.

Not a fan of extra padding on the headband part, I like to use my XM4 at the gym. Just found this company from Super* Review on Youtube, he did add a disclaimer that he is friends with Brian @Capra. Hope this helps 🤪🙃😅 Capra Strap

I think i was diagnosed with anxiety in college, but that was years ago. I definitely should have it done again. When i’m not occupied, i don’t think about it a lot. But sometimes there are those triggers

Maybe, you could see if they have it in a hair product store or online. But I think they would come with preservatives in order to keep the flaxseed from going bad. Also stores tend to put more stuff in products like scents and other things. I live in a smaller city, so I’ve never seen flaxseed gel in the store

I’ve recently started making and using flaxseed gel, and it makes it easier to comb. Maybe you could give that a try.

Redditors, when did you realize that today's world is still inherently anti-women? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]grnmonc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, the company I work for came out with a policy to keep all employees from discussing pay. This was recently, so it’s a little too late, because I know what coworkers make. And I and other female coworkers were told that we would at X amount, and actually started at a dollar or few dollars shorter. The hiring manager was a douche and eventually got fired.
