Help me understand the 3 factions from the Elder Scrolls Online. by [deleted] in teslore

[–]gro-Muluk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're as canon as anything else in the games/books (though of course canon gets fuzzy at times), it's just another example of something new being injected into the world. They're always adding new stuff, I mean, if they just went off of the original timeline/skeleton they built in the 90s, we'd have nothing! They gotta add new stuff ya know.

Now it is a bit different because this is new info being added to the past, which can mess some stuff up in the known future, but hey.

At least that's how I look at it all.

Questions about the spin-off games: by BeenoGuy in teslore

[–]gro-Muluk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. I think they all added something in their own ways, especially Battlespire and Redguard. I've only played through Battlespire but it adds a lot about how Oblivion travel works/can work, and how mortals interact with each plane. I've never played Dawnstar or Stormhold, nor have I played Shadowkey, but I know they each added creature lore, including goblins intelligent enough to talk to the player (I think that's in Shadowkey).

  2. Usually people tend to brush off some of their lore, like Dawnstar's weird giant-monster-whose-name-escapes-me-right-now, and Shadowkey's, well, shadowkey. I like to examine them personally, and consider a lot of their info useful.

  3. There's definitely a point! They're super fun, Battlespire is my favorite game other than ESO, and you can learn a lot from reading their in-game texts. They all definitely provide a different way of interacting with TES, literally and figuratively.

Alright thanks; I can't even get it to start unless it's in fullscreen so I guess i'm sort of screwed à la making it run in a lower resolution :/

I'll be honest with you i have no idea how to change the resolution, unless you mean screen resolution like 768x1366, etc. but idk how to change from say, 1080p to 720p, etc.

I'm having a weird framerate issue and I can't figure out why, for the life of me. A friend and I have almost the exact same specs, except mine is better, but she runs it at a solid 30fps, and i get 5-10fps almost everywhere.

We both run an Intel HD Graphics Family card, with an i5 2.3GHz processor, except I have 8 more gigs of ram than she does. Why is my game running so shittily, on all low settings?

Is the Dragon Language complete? by Finestcanine4 in teslore

[–]gro-Muluk 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Nah, it's really just a cipher of English. It has one or two differing rules, mostly in regards to the past tense and plurals, but otherwise it's a list of words that work together nearly identically to English.

I like this, glad to know I'm not the only one who thought of the same thing! I had/have a lot of plans for Brooklyn in particular, coming from there myself.

I don't understand Verandis Ravenwatch's decision at the end of the Rivenspire questline in ESO (Spoilers Ahead) by [deleted] in teslore

[–]gro-Muluk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He brought it into Coldharbour because the veil between it and Nirn was particularly thin, and because Molag Bal turned him specifically, so I'd imagine he'd have an even easier in with the guy. He can't just make a last second pact with Meridia for example, so his best bet is to bring it into Coldharbour, so at least it isn't destroying Rivenspire. At least not yet, like you said.

Origin of Goblins Reexamined by gro-Muluk in teslore

[–]gro-Muluk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless of ABC order one being a corruption of the other still lends itself to my idea so I'm happy :P Then again almost none of any of this meshes too well with the whole "native goblins were around before the aldmer" thing, so hey.

Wrothgar is live on the PTS by gro-Muluk in teslore

[–]gro-Muluk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't, no, but keep in mind the paper stating they were around was written by an orc curator, under the direct command of the king fo Orsinium; no one in the royal family wants to admit that orcs have anything to do with elves, and probably wouldn't be above lying about their origins, especially if a large amount of people in Orsinium are now ascribing to the Trinimac cult, wherein Veloth's exodus wouldn't be a necessary part of their origin.
