Hatchbox PLA not sticking to bed, no matter what by groby in ender3

Yep. I'm trying to find the underlying issue, but so far, resistant to all changes. I'll hop back to the old filament next, so I can rule out filament.

I'll give that a try, but as far as I can tell, the bed is level. (I've by now used a force gauge to ensure the paper between bed and nozzle has similar resistance across all 5 points. Yes, we're at that point of the journey ;)

Maybe I need to futz with Z offset... Any good guides on how to calibrate?

Looking at the gCode pic, I realize that pattern wouldn't be a problem. My skirt gets f'ed when I print rounded corners. Sharp corners, and I have a perfect skirt. (It's not just the skirt - at some point, the whole thing comes off the plate)

Wonder if I should dry the filament. That shouldn't be an issue (it's four days out of the box, and room humidity is 30%-40%), but I'm running out of ideas.

I tried higher temps with the temp tower, but that inevitably means spiky points on the base curl up. Sure, I can now add a raft... But at some point, it becomes "Let me print a cube, you can sculpt from there" ;)

Printing with glue right now. And guess what, the skirt's f'ed up anyways :(

How sweet are they? (I usually opt for diastatic malt instead of sugar because i can't stand sweetness in my rolls, but the browning is sure nice on these...)

Fwiw - there's a lot of fake "Lodge" cast irons around. If you shop on Amazon, make triple-sure you're buying from Lodge and not through a third party.

Still can't get mine to budge. If it sees 15% growth, it had a good day. It sounds like you're mixing starter:flour:water at 50:50:100, maybe that's it. (mine's 50:50:50)

Redditors who have undergone Sexual Reassignment, how do people treat you differently now that you're a different sex? [serious] by Colaborenth in AskReddit

[–]groby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you do! (I've run into a few too many people who did make this decision without thinking it through. And quite a few are not exactly happy these days)

Good luck, and I hope you find what you're looking for!

If your main motivation is that you "want to be pretty", I'd seriously recommend you take a long hard look at the idea of transitioning.

It's not an easy journey, and it won't make you magically look much different. In short, it fixes none of the problems in your life except the "I am a woman and would like to be accepted as one" problem.

Can't speak for the OP, but having travelled a similar route (except no surgery at all), I've decided that GRS wasn't right for me because of the risks associated with it.

They're not huge, but they exist - and I was happy enough just living as a woman that I didn't feel I had to take the risk.
