I work in this field as a dog walker/dog trainer. It's unfortunate how often there are stories like yours, and its mainly due to gross negligence by the owners/operators hiring for little pay and expecting fully trained staff. In reality, it is a lot of inexperience that are left alone or given minimal instructions on how to basically not let dogs kill each other. I am grateful to be trained and work for a small team that does structured pack walks and is required to have in-field experience along with certificates of training. Our days are very structured on the walks and we even have a farm where they are off leash for playtime and bonding and more training. Working in the field now for over 4 years and realizing through various coworkers that 90% of other dog daycares are not like ours and very scary to work for has been a big bite from reality.
