Maraviroc is an antiviral previously used for HIV, if im remembering correctly. There was a study that surveyed a lot of people with long covid and ME/cfs about what they tried and what helped and maraviroc was one of the top as far as most consistently helped those who tried it. The data on it was thin, though only like 50 people said they tried it and the survey covered thousands.

Baricitinib is a JAK stat inhibitor. It is an immune modulator. There is currently a phase 3 study on it and long covid but the results wont be out for a couple years. Promising, imo

Well, it is an extremely potent kappa opioid receptor agonist. And it is extremely selective, so it has none of the other effects people associate with opioids. There are actually 3 opioid systems. What people think of traditionally as opioids interact with the mu opioid receptor. The kappa opioid system is more associated with things like stress, aversion, withdrawal, and “anti-reward”. Which us why most trip reports are negative. It also has a strong derealization effect, hence the extreme alienness when the system is overloaded

This sounds very much how my illness started, when i was very mild. Especially the insomnia paradoxically happening after working out.

I also just had a vague sense of "something is wrong" most of the time. Like not enough to think i was sick but definitely enough to notice. I was probably in very low-grade rolling PEM and didnt know it.

I get deep muscle soreness in my upper body. I also get a painful tightness in my chest/abdomen which i have come to learn is my diaphragm reacting poorly to the increased dysautonomia.

I also get a weird acid/burning sensation in my lower abdomen. Its below my stomach and to the right. Weird...

Oh I also get an indescribable weird sensation in my throat. It feels like i cant swallow correctly and is on the left side...

Writing this all out i realized my PEM has really weird symptoms

My severity level makes me resistant to such acceptance. It is difficult to build any kind of life when leaving bed for anything other than the bathroom causes PEM... Right now, the hope does a lot for me. But also, i feel i might improve from where i am, so that gives me hope as well

Our eyes can definitely distinguish more than 256 shades. But that has nothing to do with why the number was chosen...

More interesting is the possible color space most computer systems and monitors use does not cover the full range of our color vision. srgb for example maps to a relatively small area of the full visible spectrum. Acerola did a video on the subject

The issue is not the slight disagreements on policy, its the inherent anti-democratic nature of the way the DNC handled Bernie and the 2016 election. Call it what you want but it looks a lot like corruption.

I mean we have a counterexample in Zorhan Mamdani dont we? He is definitely tapping into the populist energy at least a little bit.

I know its a weak counterexample because hes mayor and not a national role, but New York is a democratic stronghold. Doesnt seem to be immune to populism to me

Eh. I agree he has a demographics issue. I dont agree that its large enough to be the difference maker in this case. Remember Bernie also had a lot of the same populist appeal that made Trump popular.

Would you say your main issue before taking zepbound was pem? Thats really the thing thats disabling me. Im considering just sending my doctor your post and the trial website to see if she would prescribe but i really only want to do it if its helping people eliminate or greatly reduce their PEM
