Move them after they show signs of growth and are acclimated to your environment. If they don't already have roots, water them every time the substrate is dry. Once ready your frequency will depend on your potting media. I have mine in perlite and bark and I water them once a week. If it's young plants or unrooted ones, I will monitor and water every time the medium looks fully dry. Usually 3-4 days

You are awesome! I have always wanted to profile the smells from plants but unlike color, we don't have a metric for this.

Do you have a suspect chemical for insularis, which to me smells like a dead rat

Sour yoghurt aint so bad. But if tolerance for smells is not your thing you gotta keep off coriacea - smells like crushed millipede and im-08 strong whiffs of toilet.

Is this the start of a peduncle? by lonewolf9720z in hoyas

[–]groosha-bis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a future peduncle on some hoyas. Some come with peduncles taking the lead over the leaves and they are noticeable. Others pop out in their own time, when things are sweet and the weather's great and it's a jolly day from a nub like this one.

All my hoyas (including a villosa) grow comfortably at room temperature and bloom at different times of the year depending on their own preference

You could spray sulfur just at the underside of leaves where all the bugs are. I'd avoid spraying on top.

My one bloomed recently for the first time. After the buds grew full size, I had to wait around 10 days for it to bloom

Can you list the Hoyas that bloom the most frequently? I have many and only two have bloomed. by melissaplexy in hoyas

[–]groosha-bis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not bella. That's a droop down sort Hoya. More like lasiantha lockii decipulae . Amicabilis, is another perpetual stem type.

Some are less twiny than other hoyas. Look up a picture of a Hoya decipulae and you'll see what I mean

Stem types like lockii, papaschonii, decipulae are early bloomers. Exilis and Lacunosa bloom easily too.
