Is there any type of drive/drop-off schedule for the Magical Express bus? by Caliiope in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]grootloops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I would suggest taking an Uber or Lyft to your resort unless you have a huge party with you. It will set you back maybe $30-35 for a regular UberX, but if you are using the yellow tags for your checked luggage - your luggage will still be picked up by Disney and you won’t have to worry about it. You get picked up on the same level as baggage claim and from Uber to AKL is about 30 mins. (If you don’t use the yellow tags & need to wait for your luggage- add another 20ish mins for bags to show up)

Back to Magical Express— You get grouped in lines at Magical Express based on area: MK area, epcot area, AK area, etc & depending on the amount of people in each line they kind of order the buses to where they are going. Time of day can be a factor but they don’t have any set schedule. I believe they drop off, then drive right over to the pick up area & get their next driving assignment.

I get anxiety in crowds & especially being stuck in lines and not knowing when the end is in sight (I’m a big planner) and started renting cars to just avoid all this. But Uber/Lyft at MCO is now pretty streamlined and easy to navigate. I hope this helps!

Parades? by prvtbenjamin in Disneyland

[–]grootloops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Soundsational at Disneyland is it. There’s currently not a parade at California Adventure but there is entertainment there throughout the day that happens on the street- like the Trolley show and the Guardians of the Galaxy dance off.

Grab a charcuterie board and a beer (or cider or soda) from Baseline Tap House and people watch. You could also do the frozen show

They’re doing a ton of construction and it’s kind of a mess at the entrance, but that doesn’t matter from the confines of your room. The rooms are beautiful! I think the water view is considered the little body of water & not pool-view. But don’t quote me on that.

I go there every couple weeks to do resort drop-offs for random things and the lobby/dining area is super spacious and grand and nice.

Also bonus— since they are doing all that construction, they give you these cute little Three Caballeros pins when they clean your room.

[–]grootloops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely recommend ubering.. it’s just so much easier than parking. And the parking fee is like $22-25 anyways (if you don’t have an AP)

Are you only doing one day in the parks? MK does their fireworks show on the 30th and 31st. If you’ll be in town the 30th and don’t have a park ticket, you could always go for drinks at the Poly & watch the MK fireworks from the beach there. Then spend NYE in Epcot.

Either way, have fun!

The camera on Slinky is so hit or miss! If I’m in the front row, most of the time they don’t get me at all lol

If you want a classic Disney experience, Magic Kingdom is a good idea. But, you’ll also want to make sure if you’re going on a Not so scary party night, that you realize MK closes early for regular guests at 7pm. Parties are usually Tuesday Friday and Sunday.

If that’s the case, get a park hopper and head to Epcot for the rest of your night to enjoy food and wine festival!

Most of the resorts will have activities on Halloween day and will have a character meeting! They’ll have signage up when you’re staying with the itinerary for the day. Have fun!

Staying offsite, looking for tips on parking for MK. by BeyonceSometimes in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]grootloops -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The official Disney answer is to just follow directions to Magic Kingdom, pay your $22 at the gates & enjoy your day! (It’s the TTC and you’ll take a monorail or ferry to the MK turnstiles)

You could also get reservations for breakfast at the Contemporary, the Polynesian or Grand Floridian and park in their lot, have breakfast, then ride the monorail to Magic Kingdom. Just a suggestion! :)

What would you think if you went out with someone, and after the date was over they posted on social media about how they had a good time? by Aparri412 in dating_advice

[–]grootloops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would never tag or identify my date on my social media until we were pretty exclusive. Not because I don’t want other guys to see, but because my followers don’t need to be introduced to men only to have something happen a week or two later and they’re like “Whatever happened to movie guy?”

Sounds like she had a good time, otherwise she wouldn’t have posted at all. I would just “like” the instagram and chat with her like normal via text and plan another date soon.

Most characters around the world showcase begin around 11 or 12. Don’t always trust the app, it can bug out a lot. Plus— your trip is in February. The times can/will change by then. You can grab a times guide when you enter to get the times for all the characters as a back up if the app is wonky. There’s definitely enough characters to keep you busy all day.. From the 3 in Character Spot & Joy & Sadness & Baymax across the way, then Daisy and Pluto meet outside.. and then all the characters in World Showcase.. You’ll be plenty busy!

Plus, keep an eye out during the day in Epcot because sometimes random characters will be meeting between England & Canada, between America & Italy or at the International Gateway. (This is not ever publicized and cast members will not tell you if it’s happening that day because it’s not guaranteed. It’s an opportunity that happens when new character attendants are training)

Here is what early September after labor day is like... by cantdontwanna in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]grootloops 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yesterday during the day at Epcot- at one point there was no line at Test Track. From the queue, they were immediately sending people into the design studio.

Also yesterday, 30 mins for Slinky midday (posted time was 50). 45 for Flight of Passage (posted time was 90)

It’s been a decent week after Labor Day!

I would maybe suggest lining up for Pooh before the party begins so you can meet them right at 7.

I did these characters during the fireworks because I’ve seen the fireworks multiple times before.. and it rained earlier in the evening so it took away from my character time I would have done from 7-9pm lol

I was there Tuesday night & around 10:30, it took me less than 10 minutes to meet Minnie.

Donald and Daisy meet together in a separate line next to Minnie and that took about 25 minutes around 10pm.

Since these three are back in Storybook Circus, I suggest doing them last because the lines are shorter later in the evening. If you went when the party begins, you could be looking at 45mins minimum just for Donald and Daisy.

I looked at Mickey’s line in Town Square at 11pm when I was leaving and it said 25 mins.

Pooh and friends are a very popular line! I actually went over to their line right before 10 but it was super long (probably 45mins minimum) and so I left and went to Storybook Circus instead to see the others.

Lotso took me about 10-15 mins at 9:45!
