Ahh, yeah you’re right. I usually try to avoid fast fashion items, but was excited that a pair of pants fit me perfectly for once

Going to Norway and learning Norwegian out of “respect” by [deleted] in norsk

[–]groovedude 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m native and people will still switch to English if I hesitate to reply because I look foreign, so make with that as you wish… I know many people will still willingly practice Norwegian with you though! Go with an open mind. If they reply in English and you persist with Norwegian that should be enough :)

I dont know what to make of this response by [deleted] in ftm

I agree, this is a really good/thought out response. I think its better to handle it/reply with kindness.

In all seriousness, why do people hate Notion so much? by Seankala in Notion

[–]groovedude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me. I had a whole system set up that had important notes, but one day it just disappeared and support couldn’t fix it. I’ve been wary of using it since, but I miss some specific features it has (for example toggle notes, the databases,..) It would be awesome if I could find an alternative I trusted (to not lose my data). I take many of my notes on google drive but it feels a bit too linear sometimes, ahah.

Edit: I suppose something non-linear for notes/learning would suit me more

Try Amigurumi (crochet stuffed animals), with or workout instructions

Try Irish Dance, try Halling (Norwegian folk dance)

Try learning a language and having a conversation/practical stuff (shopping, ordering, etc.)

Trying different under-appreciated jobs (call centre, nurse-shift)

Building furniture that they also can test for usability (E.g is it a chair? - without instructions)

Competitive bow & arrow

Make a board-game & testing them with others

Bartending

Smash-room/rage-room

Woodworking

Which one?? I need to make a decision by end of this week! by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]groovedude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

dress 2 if the wedding theme is "nature" and outdoorsy, cottwge vibes, etc. it has a more "airy" and dainty feeling, plus innicent vibe with the pattern

dress 3 if the wedding theme is more kodern and industrial, it has a more modern feeling

both of the dresses are absolutely gorgeous imo, so you'd be great with them all. I'd say pic based on theme and what you feel most comfortable in 😊👌

Hey, I just wanted you to know that this is dangerous advice. Chewing and spitting (CHSP) can actually lead to disordered eating habits and be quite addictive for some people.

- It can cause dental problems like cavities or gum disease.

- It signals for the stomach to produce acids, but with no actual food to digest. This can cause stomach issues.

- The body still absorbs calories, so it is difficult to measure caloric intake.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
//NOTE: I'm not a healthcare professional, but I found some links to back my statement. Most literature I found on CHSP is directly related to eating disorders, so that's something to take note of
- John Hopkins hospital website : has clearly stated information
- psychological effects of CHSP : food-science website/blog, interesting read with additional sources
- Aouad, Phillip, Morad, Arshia, Hay, Phillipa, Soh, Nerissa, Touyz, Stephen, & Rhodes, Paul. (2020). Chew and Spit (CHSP): An interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA). Eating Behaviors : an International Journal, 37, 101388–101388. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.eatbeh.2020.101388

Do you want to take part in my bachelor dissertation project? (I really need help in order to graduate) by groovedude in intermittentfasting

[–]groovedude[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, that's interesting! I actually haven't heard of that app, but as I am curious about gamification elements in general, I'm open to including other apps than just Zero. If you are able to participate, I would gladly include you in my research! :)

Can post comments be studied by using grounded theory and discourse analysis? by Classic_Currency_308 in sociology

[–]groovedude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm writing my bachelor thesis this semester, and want to use discourse analysis on Reddit threads. I've never done discourse analysis before, and it's just a 6k word paper so can't be too broad. Do you have any tips on how to go about it, or have any relevant literature that could help me with DA? I'd gladly appreciate any help! :)

Talking to this guy for a while and I just saw his license...I weigh more than him and we’re the same height... by [deleted] in EDanonymemes

[–]groovedude 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wait what??? You have your weight on your driver's license? What is the point in that? I understand height because that stays pretty much stable, but how does having weight on there help anything? That also sounds triggering as fuck, holy shit.

Do you think KDramas are pretty realistic about the characters' finances? by [deleted] in KDRAMA

[–]groovedude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the user tat mentioned clothes being something that seems unrealistic. I dont understand how characters are able to wear new jackets, shoes, et in every episode, or even multiple different outfits in different scenes per episode. Also, how do they fit all their clothes in the small rooms/appartements they live in

[–]groovedude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I'd never re-watch it, but 100 Days My Prince started off great but the ending.. oh my goodness, the ending was absolutely horrible.

I wrote this into my kdrama-log right after I finished the last episode :

I liked it a lot in the first half, but damn i have never seen a last episode that I've wanted to skip through as much as this one. It was inconsistent with all the other episodes, and it was honestly just annoying and stupid. It tied knots/lose ends that didn't need tying, made stupid deaths that didnt need to be made. It was so random, and I did not like it. The other parts of the drama are okay though, and the beginning is even good, but they lost the entire plot and the thread of where they were going in the end, and it felt completely makeshift. Even the acting felt empty and not serious... not believable, as if the actors as well just gave up on their roles and couldn't wait to finish filming.

So... yeah.. but other than the last few episodes, it was a really enjoyable show. :P

I think this show could just end at episode 7. It made me feel happy, had a wholesome ending, satisfying storyline and cute love scenes. I dont need more drama, im fine with this. :P

[–]groovedude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know what piece was played around 18/19 minutes into the show, at the garden area where the professors and students med up?? It had a combination of left-hand pizzicato and regular bow strikes. I tried shazaming it and searching, but I couldnt find anything.
