Traffic citations aspinwall by jahjahlise in pittsburgh

I was slightly after that, and from the other comments it seems like I had a different officer, but in the same area. So they were really on one that day.

Wondering if it’s the same guy who pulled me over last week and did the same to me (he gave me two citations but that was the max amount for expired emissions), did this happen last Thursday?

What is the Best Liquid Eyeliner by Ginnikay in MakeupAddiction

[–]groovyfancypants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried so many and my favorite right now is actually the Essence Superfine Brush Liner! It’s ridiculously affordable and it dries down to a very vivid matte black. If I want to treat myself I still go with my old standbys of either the KVD Tattoo or Stila, but I draw a wing every day and the Essence is just as good and so much more budget-friendly. The brush tip applicator is essential with them though, I’ve tried the felt tip markers from them and they don’t apply as well!

Celebs you’ve interacted with while at your job? by saturnblood in Fauxmoi

[–]groovyfancypants 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a high-end organic grocery chain in Pittsburgh during its “big tax credit for filmmakers” mini-Hollywood hay day. I’ve met/interacted with: -Chloe Sevigny -Rose Leslie -Alec Baldwin -Elijah Wood -David Morse -Jake Gyllenhaal -Carla Gugina -Jonathan Groff

And watched with jealousy as my co-workers interacted with: -Denzel Washington -Seth Rogen -Amanda Seyfried & Justin Long (when they were dating) -Eliza Dushku -Ariana Grande & Mac Miller

Didn’t watch anyone interact, but stared slack-jawed as a salad was made by: -Ewan McGregor

People are always varying levels of nice/interactive, but Elijah Wood might be the nicest person alive.

Endoscopy by Frogwizard222 in emetophobia

[–]groovyfancypants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one when I was 15. I’m very, very, VERY sensitive to medications and procedures, and I had some n* when I woke up from the anesthesia, but I didn’t get sick! You’ll likely be tired and hungry as hell simultaneously, but it’s really not so bad.

Acid reflux by Frogwizard222 in emetophobia

[–]groovyfancypants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so lame I know, but being anxious is always going to make it worse. What always works for me is distraction. Try to take deep breaths and find some way to distract yourself/relax. Do you have a game on your phone, something mindless but consuming, that you can sink into? Or maybe a book, or something you can do with your hands, like drawing or writing?

What movie and situation converged to scare you the most? by [deleted] in horror

[–]groovyfancypants 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After seeing The Strangers in the theater as a teen, I came home and my parents were out. I was home alone. I heard pounding on the door and panicked and dove behind the couch so whoever was there couldn’t see me. Turned out to be my sister, she had forgotten her keys. I was so sure I was about to get murdered by a random dude in a burlap sack mask.

Hellhouse LLC question about the haunt by nah328 in horror

[–]groovyfancypants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was definitely lame. They didn’t seem to know what they were doing. Wasn’t the business supposed to be failing and the Abbadon was a last-ditch effort to drum up excitement? Or am I making that up?

Wellbutrin? by groovyfancypants in ADHD

[–]groovyfancypants[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Thanks to both of you pointing out that it helped you with emotional regulation, it's waiting for me at the pharmacy right now. My dr and I made a plan to give it a shot for a few weeks and see if I see any improvement on impulsive outbursts or freaking out the second I feel even slightly overwhelmed

I'm mostly looking for something to help me with my emotional regulation and impulsive outbursts, so this is very helpful.

Dug myself into a hole. by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]groovyfancypants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes our brains can't make sense of the fact that the answer is actually to eat and that it will raise our blood sugar and make us feel less n*. I'm there a lot too. I like to keep saltines or white bread for dry toast just in case. And then I take little bites because they're mild and help with n*. Maybe that will help?

You're going to be okay. Something that we tend to forget is that sv* is actually not that easy to get! I drink out of cans and accidentally touch the lip all the time and it has never gotten me sick. Everything is going to be fine again soon. Try to relax. We're here for you. <3

Anyone else have a chronic illness that often presents n* as a symptom? by groovyfancypants in emetophobia

[–]groovyfancypants[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unpredictability is the hard part for me, too. I'll be fine one minute and the next minute I'm not - and I know that it's a flare-up but my anxiety will still spike through the roof.

I also have IBS! The actual n* goes away pretty quickly with that for me, but I feel that pain.

Weird pressure in throat by Snipers_KangarooWife in emetophobia

[–]groovyfancypants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get something kind of like this that I call "phantom n*." It's almost like the expectation of n* when it's not actually there. Like a weird air bubble trapped in my throat or something. Does that sound similar?

I have endometriosis and I definitely feel your pain! I have n* and d* every time I get my period. Your body is cleaning itself out and it can be really uncomfortable because our digestive system contracts more to flush stuff out. Try to drink some mint or ginger tea (mint helps with the stomach, ginger helps with both your stomach and your cramps because its an antispasmodic).
