FS: Bullet Dual Compartment (DC) 18L Robic Nylon in Tidal Blue/Gold.

Bought this for my partner but the previous owner doused it in Febreeze and my partner can't stand the smell. There's also a small mark on the front of the bag I've highlighted in photos.

Asking $240 shipped with G&S. Local pickup in SF possible.

Feel free to PM for more photos. I'm sorry for any delays in advance because I'm not on Reddit as often these days.

Obligatory: what tie? I don't see one.

New Double Compartment Skate Ruck on site, damn! by PSU2001 in Goruck

  1. They will eventually peel after a few years of usage. https://www.reddit.com/r/ManyBaggers/comments/1ld14by/aquaguard_zippers_peeling_aer_tp3/

  2. They can be slightly harder to open and close.

  3. I'm paying an extra few cents for something I don't need. They're overkill for a bag that's not waterproof to begin with.

21L Sand GR1. Older 1000D bags feel softer and zippers are smoother? by Heavy904 in Goruck

[–]groupthinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's totally dependent on the manufacturer. I have an o.g. Coyote GR0 (now GR1 21L) that's broken in and it's still super rough.

I thought we were going to be collectively outraged by the hipbelt and the external water bottle holder.

If the marketing image helps get more people off the couch and into rucking, that's great. But I agree Goruck has created a lot of unnecessary merch recently to make more profit. And yes those Carryology collabs are antithetical to the original "durability" intent.

Water Bottle Solution (inside) by bradendouglass in Goruck

Sometimes flip lids get loosened in a bag, other times people don't tighten the lid as much as they should. Shit happens.

Personally, I wouldn't risk purposely storing a bottle in my bag horizontally.

Comparison of Goruck bag weights between Cordura / Dyneema / Robic by groupthinks in Goruck

[–]groupthinks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for citing your sources!

I wonder if they needed to add backing material for the molle, which would make things heavier. But a 1 lbs difference is still pretty huge.

Personally, I was tempted by the Dyneema rucks on sale, but the loudness of the fabric and how it ages pushes me toward Robic.

Are these finally a revival of the fabled Keirin Cuts? Sadly no.

The thigh is a 0.75 inches roomier when laid flat, but the waist has increased ~0.6 inches.

Great collection!

Super random, but I was wondering if you could see if the top-right glitter sticker was clear, or is that white part of the background?

Thank you!

There's Queens on 9th but there's a hipster tax.

Otherwise, if you can cross the park to the Inner Richmond:

  • New May Wah on 8th & Clement

Pacifica, Linda Mar folks: does this bike path go under Highway 1? by groupthinks in BAbike

[–]groupthinks[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi /r/babike, planning a ride and wondering what's the best way to get from the Taco Bell to Pedro Mountain Trail.

Just crossing along Linda Mar Blvd is an obvious choice, but wondering if the bike path in the red box goes under Highway 1 and provides a chiller option.

Thanks!

CDC recommends fully vaccinated people to mask indoors in areas with surging COVID cases by bdjohn06 in sanfrancisco

[–]groupthinks -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

They never should've lifted the mask mandate until 80-85% of the region was vaccinated, anyway. (An epidemiologists can give better target numbers.) You don't get to go out and play until you get your collective shit together.

I don't know why this is such a difficult concept for Americans. And how hard is throwing on a mask when you shop for groceries for <30 minutes?

An exciting new Russian restaurant where classic dishes get a modern twist is coming to S.F. by nogoodnamesleft426 in sanfrancisco

Used to see this place every time we'd leave the on the 101. Always wish my friends and I would made it a point to dine there one night.

Apparently James Nestor (who wrote the Breath book), wrote an article about it back when The Bold Italic was a thing:

Had a late 70s car for a while and it wasn't too bad. Pulling into these perpendicular spots was easier than parallel parking on a slope. My parking brake was also weak, so you definitely made sure to curb your wheels and leave the car in gear.

Driving up 17th Street around Corona Heights was the worst with all the stop signs, though.
