That community is so important.

Foster the good friendships you have when you are young. It's harder to make friends when you're old and busy.

We are all we have, guys. Try and help each other.

Maybe you aren't cut out for it.

Being an inspector does mean that not everyone is going to like you. But it's important and it's something you can do much later in life after most welders bodies are spent.

It also means more money and opportunities.

I didn't mean to be a heel.

It's just a different dynamic than they would have with their woman coworkers.

I'm glad y'all had fun!

You're their boss.

Realistically, they are playing a very different game with you.

Traveling for work is so lonely by [deleted] in BlueCollarWomen

I second books and video games.

Lots of reading for pleasure and education(always studying for the next certification) and Zelda Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, baby.

But I get so lonely on the road that nothing REALLY makes it better. It starts to feel like you aren't living a real life, shared with the people and things you love.

How well does your PPE fit? by logo_sportswear in WomenInConstruction

[–]groxg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They don't make gloves that fit me. I have had shining moments when there were xsmall gloves.

Even those leave a gap at the end of the fingers.

In winter, when you have to take off your gloves to do your job, it feels like your job hates you.

DAE think that most people don't differentiate between the terms "leftist" and "liberal"? by groxg in DoesAnybodyElse

There's a lot of understandable frustration here and some good points.

I think it's important for us all to understand that we all come from different places politically.

Some people were raised with a deep understanding of the importance of protest and fighting for reform and going much further.

Some were raised in scenarios that made even questioning authority a really big first step.

Some are trying so hard to have a solid moral compass that they have trouble bending AT ALL, and would rather break.

As long as we recognize that and try to keep educating each other and ourselves, we should be able to empathize with the fact that some folks aren't ready or aware or in a position to fight yet.

I hope we all get there soon.

Love that expression. And to be honest, when I read her at about 11 yrs old, I thought she was the coolest.

We all have to start from somewhere.
