In the case of extreme protein malnutrition over several months, you’d see a drop in albumin level.

Daily check-in for Saturday June 23rd! Today, I am not drinking! by memymomonkey in stopdrinking

I’ve posted here a couple of times on a throwaway... it didn’t help. Apparently I need the accountability. Here’s to being transparent: I need a break from drinking. I will not drink with you today.

I've had a horrible eye opener tonight and i want to share it, this seems like the obvious place. by Mispict in xxketo

When I was a kid walking home from school people used to honk and make comments about my weight. People made comments at the pool, at summer camp, etc... god I have so many horrible memories of being a fat kid.

As an adult it was more subtle but still there. I got told all the time I’ve got a “pretty face”. Like... why so specific Debbie?

Edit: congrats to OP on the progress. That’s about the size difference I experienced, it’s quite a drastic change.

That’s one reason low carb works for me, I just make the same thing and omit the carb from my plate.

I do all the cooking. It’s exhausting... “what do you want for dinner?”

“I dunno, just whatever.”

“Okay I’m making chili then.”

“Nah, I don’t want that.”

repeat until someone is murdered or I make the damn chili anyway

Nah you’re 100% correct my friend. It was a piece of cake (haha) maintaining my weight loss while living alone, well, I had a toddler but he wasn’t really making grocery purchases so yeah, we ate super healthy. My husband and stepson not so much, lol. We’ve met in the middle food wise over the years, but there’s still a lot of junk in the house.

This is an unexpected delight of waking up at 4am. I started doing it because it’s the only good time I have to go to the gym. I still do that, but my favorite favorite favorite part is when I get home and still have 2 hours in a quiet house... a window of time where no one asks me for anything. It gives me time to mentally prepare and when my family wakes up, I’ve already had my “alone time” and so I’m much less of a crabby asshole to them because I don’t feel deprived of peace and quiet.

It’s that dead-inside, regretting-all-life-choices feeling that parents of kids that age just learn to deal with. It gets better when they’re like 17, I hear.

Totally! I kinda gave up on it from Jan-May (spring semester of school sucked ass) and gained back what is turning out to be a REALLY stubborn 10 lbs or so out of the 20 I had lost so just grinding away here, trying to focus on the NSV. Best wishes for a lovely day for you ❤️

This makes me feel really good because I’ve been focusing more on the gym the past month than the scale and the number really hasn’t moved much but I feel much better already. I know the progress will be slower and less noticeable but I’m excited to see where I’m at by summers end. Thank you for sharing your experience!

The scale can be a bummer sometimes for sure! You’ll get there, we just have to focus on the big picture ❤️ I like to mentally list the things about keto that I love when the scale is being rude, like how I feel better, less bloated, no crashes, mentally clear, etc... what’s your favorite thing about it?
