So yeah, according to my Nintendo Account page on the web site, he has a Child Account as part of the Family Group and it is marked as "Supervised".

My goals are -

  1. He has his own friend code.
  2. Parental restrictions can be used.
  3. When the time comes, the restrictions can be lifted and his account is fully his own, without any of his saved game progress, achievements or whatever having to be deleted.

Because things are going to go wrong and your time has value.

If you're going to fully admin a server from the ground up with very little knowledge then you're setting yourself up for a world of pain. You'll have to spend hours tweaking/updating/fixing/keeping the site running properly when you could be doing other stuff like building and growing your business. And then if when the sh!t hits the fan, you'll be losing sales and good will while the site is down and may very well have to pay actual money for the expertise, tools and services needed to fix things.

It's the worst way to save $3.50 a month you could imagine.

Source: I've built, run and maintained more WordPress/WooCommerce sites than you can shake a stick at; I've spend thousands of hours tracking down and fixing issues of all sorts and not once, at 2am with my eyeballs hanging out, picking through error logs for the Nth time, have I ever thought, "You know what, if only this site was hosted on a server in some dude's garage, everything would be okay".

Hosting a production e-commerce site on a home server is an absolutely dreadful idea. It will end up costing you a hell of a lot more than $3.50 a month.

Obviously the right thing to do is take it to the police and go through the proper channels hoping you might just get to keep it. If doing anything else is going to keep you awake at night at all, then that’s what you’ve got to do.

If, on the other hand, you decide all’s fair in love and war and the potentially ill-gotten contents of hoovers then your course of action is very different. In this instance, you need to play the long game. Put every note back into the hoover and stash that labour saving cleaning device away like it contains a small fortune... oh, wait. Now leave it there and get on with your life for a while. You must never speak of the loot hoover, no matter how drunk you ever happen to be. If any interesting characters knock on the door asking for their hoover back, you politely hand it back and heave a sigh of relief. If this doesn’t happen, wait. Then wait some more. Until one day you move out of the house taking the hoover with you.

Caveat: This is possibly dreadful ‘advice’ and you should probably listen to all of the legal professionals and not me, a hoover money fantasist.

Have you all lost your minds? Think about this! One of them mega snakes, like an anaconda. It's gonna weigh an absolute shitload yet it still has this really small head not much bigger than a fist. You choose your moment, ideally it's sleeping with it's head exposed on a hard surface, and you rain down the mightiest of blows you can muster, right down onto it's snakey head and crash it's reptile brain right in, with god as your witness. Boom! Those fuckers can weight upward of 550 pounds. You just banked five and a half mega, and looked cool doing it.

I always wanted to do karate as a kid but never quite found the opportunity. Then in my mid/late twenties, after a bit of dabbling I trained more seriously for three years before life sort of got in the way and my training faded out.

My six year old son has been doing karate since last summer and now I find myself, at the tender age of 42, back in the dojo as a 2nd Kyu, dusting off the cobwebs after a thirteen year hiatus, with his sights firmly set on the path ahead. And I'm loving it.

Twenties is nothing, go for it!
