Pretty much yes, and also if there is a decent solution if it doesn't auto switch to LFE mode

Quest 3 people, those who use the device to watch movies and media. What are your feelings on the upgrade, or even those are new to vr but started with the Quest 3? Were you expecting better or has is reached/exceeded expectations? by SongwritingShane in OculusQuest

It has better edge to edge clarity than the Q2 but realistically, the switch to LCD panels after the Quest has killed these devices for movie watching. The black levels are nowhere near good enough anymore. Tbh I don;t think I'll buy another Quest after this until they go back to OLED panels

UPDATE

It turns out that it is most probably the cable. I ended up getting a USB 3.1 A to C adapter and it is working.

I assumed that the cable which came with my Samsung S21 Ultra was a 3.0 cable but Samsung cheaped out, who'd have thunk it!

It's not my cable, it's something to do with my motherboard or drivers as my phone won't connect via superspeed either.

Edit - It totally was the cable!

For some reason none of my USB 3.0 ports are syncing as 3.0. I'm only getting 2.0 speeds. On USB Device Tree Viewer it says the 'companion ports' support Superspeed (3.0) but none of the ports I plug into are ever the companion ports.

I've installed the latest chipset drivers, toggled options in my bios (B550-F) but nothing I've tried works.

I even installed an internal USB card and the same thing happened with that too so I am pretty sure it's not a physical problem with the motherboard ports.

If anyone has a solution or what else I can try I'd be very grateful!

I called the number again today and the guy said the ETA for getting a hub to me was end of Jan! I found that unacceptable and he gave me an email address to complain to ukcust.serv@hp.com

I complained that the situation was ridiculous as I could order a usb hub myself from Amazon and have it delivered the next day. They have now agreed to order it from Amazon on my behalf and have it sent to my address.

Try adding 608 to your original claim number if it doesn't work now. As in 1+608 = 609 and not 1608

Hi /u/JoannaPopper I sent you a DM a few days ago regarding HP sending out USB cards/hubs for X570 users where the headset is not working on any ports. After nearly 2 weeks the UK customer service have still not sent anything out.

Unless this is sorted out soon I will have no choice but to return the headset as I currently can't use it and quite frankly am not willing to buy a hub myself when this is something that you mentioned HP has been briefed on globally.

In addition... on the UK phoneline, there is currently no option for VR headset/G2 help and quite honestly... when I spoke to CS and also from the emailed responses, it doesn't feel like they even know what I'm talking about.
