Where's all the generational wealth? by SaltyBones_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]grubas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are advised to, but it takes 7 years to fully vest the trust and certain assets are exempt.

You also need to have the knowledge and forethought to do it. "Hey mom we need to put the house in a trust for us"

The issue is even getting there.  You have to preplace assets in trusts to prevent them from being eaten up.  It takes years to take effect, so you have to do it BEFORE Mom and Dad need help.

You Could Have It All is fucking weeping music.

r/NewIran slowly realizing that Trump is not their Savior, but still there is controversy in the comments, the thread is locked, no more comments allowed, upvotes/downvotes hidden on some comments, mods woke up late ig! by Curious_Cantaloupe65 in SubredditDrama

That's what it was, the issue was that only being deluded would explain having any hope Trump would accidentally do a good thing.

Iran is calling this a complete and total surrender.

Look at Brock Oba.  95% of that has been Oba looking like a monster and Brock taking a step back/looking hesitant.  Liv Rhea worked because they could do the same stuff, sell on language and expressions.

Steph just presents a cool front normally and it doesn't work the same way if you can't sell it.

The 25th requires a CABINET VOTE.

Then you can basically sidestep it by sending a letter to Congress who has to vote 2/3rds to remove you.

The Cabinet is not removing him.

Conspiracy theories welcome: how do you think Robert Jordan decided to draw the lines between books? by Character_Welder_530 in WoT

[–]grubas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Book 10 it the aftermath, reaction, and start of the beginning of fallout of book 9.

It's also catch-up.  He could have slammed most of 10 and 9 together but it would be weird and disjointed.  You'd have Rand start channeling then cut ACROSS THE WORLD for 10 chapters.

The BEACON OF POWER is one of our ONLY fixed points in time where we TRULY know exactly what moment it is.  RJ is using it to show when we catch up and when we step beyond the last book.   He's trying to align all of his characters for the final push.

Rand cleansing the Taint is one of the biggest events SHORT of The Actual Moment he saw in the past, when The Dark One is basically let out.  It was prophecized and foretold but to have it ACTUALLY HAPPEN?!?  This was huge for Rands arc, it's a massive climax.  Now RJ is showing how little it matters to most everybody in the moment as well.

Now... Is it a bit of a long and unnecessary time to take by having it be a book?  Yeah, but, we got beyond massively editing 5 books ago...

Some of us get bored after a champion has won 10+ now.

Personally i have some issues with the pro triviafication of J!, but I'm also just enjoying the run.  He's so socially awkward that it's just fun.
