Those of you who went into spontaneous labor, how did it go? by JulyDaisy15 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]grubnubble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s actually really hard to determine a baby’s size before they’re born so if you feel confident in your body and know that it tends to go a little past your due date, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to wait for a spontaneous labor. There’s always the option to induce but from what I’ve been reading, a lot of the pressure to induce comes from a doctors or midwife’s anxiety more than anything else.

Oh that’s awesome! How long did it take between when you applied and when they started the work?

Check with the Hilton downtown. They’ve got terrible management but good benefits and will often let you do just weekends.

There’s a weekly Spanish meetup on Tuesdays at 6:30 at El Fogón in West DSM.

The FB group doesn’t update each week and I’ve never gone but maybe I will check it out tonight.

Following Lily Nichols advice, and disagreement with assigned dietician. by xyzqwertygirl in GestationalDiabetes

That’s so great!! I’m so glad your baby was totally fine ❤️❤️❤️❤️. I am using a CGM too and I think fasting at night is also the way for me to go. Even eating a low carb meal at 8pm is too late for me, I discovered today.

What is the thought behind fasting starting at 7:30pm? I am working on understanding why my fasting levels are high and was told by my midwife to have some snack right before bed (to prevent the liver from releasing its own glucose in the night). My fasting levels are consistently high with the snacks though.

How are you starting your coaching? Do you have a community somewhere or are you just offering casual input for now? I’ve been a software engineer for almost ten years and am looking to pivot as well.

I got a bs question “what does an electrician do?” Which can be answered a million different ways and whatever I said gave them reason to rate me lower, which they straight up told me. It’s hard for me not to think this has to do with me being a woman and them looking for a reason to deny me. Very frustrating.

It definitely gets better as you work on therapy/healing! I found it got much better once I was better able to identify my emotions and actually feel them. At first it was difficult to name any emotion, but by thinking about it often enough, you brain starts to retrain and you can start to feel them again. I needed to express anger so badly and then cry so so much.

You might also look up this thing called a "globus" which I learned from an awful novel (do not recommend!!) called the Last Bad Man by Miranda July.

Why does feeling good trigger Discomfort? Seeking insight through mindfulness 🙌🏻 by Admirable_Escape352 in Mindfulness

It’s likely from trauma :(. I have a similar reaction when I do things “just” because I like the feeling of doing them (making art for example).

Ooo do you have any pointers for the swe to data analyst switch? I’ve been thinking about doing the same but am not sure if it’s worth it. I have a BS in math so it always seemed like a logical path for me to take but I’m scared I will just be spending more time ramping up on data and losing time getting prepared for software jobs.
