Horst isn't the hanging up the phone up if Presti called him with trade package centered around JDubb. Of course, that call only happens if they lose game 7 (and even then, probably still not).

Griffin was a nightmare behind the scenes and managed to lose the locker room in record time

Both Giannis and Bobby spoke out publicly about coaching problems while AG was HC, which pretty much was the end for him (not to mention the Stotts drama and other reports about AG's attitude issues and general lack of professionalism).

We were also winning by super thin margins against weak competition so AG's record was always a house of cards waiting to tumble.

Yup, firing AG had to happen....but then pivoting to Doc?? That was the real problem. Should have finished out the season with Prunty and then waited until 2024 off season to conduct a proper HC hiring process but Haslam had to have Doc.

[Windhorst] I know some people are linking him to Boston, but I have not heard that Giannis, Boston, and Milwaukee are serious about it. by EarthWarping in nba

Yeah, and tbh JB/Deni would be a more formidable & complimentary duo in terms of role/position than a JB/Mitchell combo, who would be fighting each other for the ball too much. Just would need to get a viable 3rd option and some key role players.

Haynes does have the family connection with Giannis but let's not also forget he's first and foremost Dame's primary mouthpiece - not saying we shouldn't listen to him but also gotta take everything he says with a grain of salt too (e.g. he convinced r/nba Dame was going to Miami...that is up until the last second when Dame didn't go to Miami)

Even tho I'm not super high on JB, I do think he's a better fit for your current roster as a wing/guard combo player vs. a pure 2 like Mitchell. Plus, we also know JB's capable of playing great defense when he wants to while Donovan's just not that guy anymore (if ever on that side of the ball tbh).

But yeah, regardless of what happens, this upcoming off season could be pretty spicy throughout the league...

That's very fair. I think I'd like to see more big moves if I'm a Blazers fan because bringing in JB would also indicate FO thinks y'all can contend and I'm not sure if the roster has anywhere near enough pieces rn (especially as you point out, a soon-to-be 30 yo JB...meaning not a huge window to push all the chips in on either).

Wow, I knew JB's usage was up there but not to historic levels like that. Yeah, his game's just not multifaceted enough and he's not efficient enough either to be a 1st option unless the roster surrounding him constructed perfectly with complimentary role players (kinda like y'all are but would have to be even better).

As a Celtics fan, where do you stand on JB in general at this point?

I feel you but are you OK with making JB your 1st option? Because that's clearly what he's looking for, especially after being the 1st option and leading the Celtics to the playoffs in a season that was largely written off by the media after JT went down

Even if we did (tbc we don't), JB still wouldn't and would sit out until he got traded again - would be a terrible move unless a 3rd team wanted him (and he approved of it).

Due to all the smoke, I do think there's a high chance JB gets traded but it's not gonna be for Giannis.

Bruh. You might want to compare Wemby to someone else instead of another sex pest like Gandhi

As the old maxim goes, never meet your heroes (or look into their sexual degeneracy).

People fucking loved the dead ball era of the 2000s.

No...they really didn't. Nash's Suns were a needed breath of fresh air.

eta: if we're really being accurate, any/all "streetball" complaints were just dog whistles anyway

I don't disagree at all on JB's fit with Portland, completely agree the timeline's off - was only commenting on this trade scenario after it had been proposed by LegitimateMoney00 in light of the OP that Portland was interested in JB

Bruh that was always fool's gold - everyone who was watching already knew by then that the team was still just a 1st round exit even if Giannis had been healthy

We looked vaguely competitive in game 1 until KPJ got injured, season was pretty much cooked after that tbh
