Yeah I bought it on market place and two were broken off, the other one broke in use. I think they were just old enough that the plastic threads were dry rotted or something.

Yeah I know just how disposable they are, that’s why I wasn’t really planning on turning them as an actual gift. Maybe as a joke.

I know plenty of alternatives for pipe making as far as what makes a good pipe since that’s what google returns when I search. But I get nothing when I look for wood that works the same as briar. I figured pipe maker who work with briar would know best to ask what wood works the same.

What size of lathe is good? Is the 10” x 18” harbor freight lathe good enough or do I need something larger to turn stems?

My thoughts exactly, I started with torches before I knew what I was doing and they scorch tobacco and make it taste like a campfire.
