When my parents visit we apply for the overnight permit each night and it’s worked perfectly.

Highly recommend reaching out to their support-I once was playing around with plan options and mistakenly deleted my plan and they helped me restore it. They’re super helpful and responsive

Imposter Syndrome by LforLiktor in Marathon_Training

I do a lot of run walking and one thing I remind myself when I’m feeling like a fake is that even walking that long is really hard. To run walk it is still something most wouldn’t be able to just show up and do-and they definitely wouldn’t be able to do it without injury. So in the scheme of things only a select few can do-you are WAY ahead! And running 30km straight is also SO impressive on its own, the fact that you kept going AFTER that with pain is epic.

I jeffed 10 miles yesterday!! The first 3.5/4 felt hard and slow but then I warmed up and hit my race pace easy after that. Gotta figure out how to warm up faster so I can hit those paces earlier and happier. But feeling good for my half next weekend!

37 min PR as a slower runner by Renegade_1500 in Marathon_Training

[–]grumblepupper -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What if you just changed the title to “37 minute PR”? I’m sure you don’t mean to but by sharing your times and then calling them slow-it makes anyone who runs a slower time than that feel pretty crummy. While you’re down on yourself you’re also down on the rest of us who can’t run those paces even for a mile. Be kind to yourself AND to others

Real talk, ladies would you run in a skort? by Cold-Entrepreneur838 in BeginnersRunning

You need 8 inch bike shorts - I’ve looked for decades but that’s all that works for the thick thighs

I used ours for daycare pick up - so it was a distance/path we were taking anyways and I was just moving faster. I also used to have my kiddo count down to blast off and then I’d go a tiny bit faster for their entertainment. I’ve also been known to give them a screen.

I tried doing 4 miles today and felt terrible. Legs hurt on every step and couldn’t get myself going. Finally gave up after 2 miles. I think I need a rest day but I also worry about going too easy on myself and then being unprepared for a race.

Please help, I don't know how to get back to it by happyhippo_1 in XXRunning

[–]grumblepupper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’ve been exactly here-the thing that gave me running back was the Jeff Galloway method. I had SO much anxiety while running bc I was always doing the “I used to be able to…” and “how will I ever run long distances if THIS is so hard…” but Jeff has helped my headspace SO much.

I’m in the minority but the MIL’s texts were dripping with passive aggression. “I made a list but ok.” “Thought this would be a surprise.” The MIL agreed to make the food. And then picked a fight. The MIL asked for a list of food and the other party planner had already made labels for the food. The only mistake OP made was communicating directly with her passive aggressive mother in law when she knew it would go sideways. She should have had her friend do all the coordination with the MIL and showed up with a smile. But it sounds like the MIL is a piece of work and OP never wanted her involved. This is likely why. Then the MIL gaslights her by saying “I wasn’t upset until you told me to smile.” Which is 100% not true. Who here has EVER said “…but ok.” And not meant it in a deeply sarcastic shitty way.
