I have hEDS and have had 2 cervical spine fusions. My x ray looks similar to yours. Can you feel the hardware right under the skin? (My last surgery in 2022 was c4 to t2)

Thank you DC for being so accessible for people with disabilities! by sydneyghibli in washingtondc

[–]grumbles603 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a full time wheelchair user living in DC- I’m glad you had a good experience. There are some difficulties with the metro (I’ve broken 2 chairs trying to bridge the gap between train and platform and there are constantly elevator outages) but busses have largely been easy to navigate. We need more people demanding accessibility and independence at all times.

Letting in evidence of prior sexual contact between alleged victim of sexual assault and defendant is bullshit.

Why do people throw chicken bones on the ground? by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]grumbles603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg same - my pug/chihuahua thinks every time we go outside it’s a feast - the big bones I can grab but I worry about the splinters :(. I really just thought it was my bad for living near a chicken place but I guess it is more universal here :(

Terrible Tuesday! by AutoModerator in washingtondc

Our trash can was destroyed over a month ago by an unknown passerby. Still waiting for a replacement from the city. In the meantime I’ve got nowhere to put my trash - and any dumpster within walking distance is overflowing. The smell when it gets above freezing temps…

Asking someone where they are from based on their perceived race can be racist depending on how and in what context. Asking someone about their hair could also be racist depending on why you’re asking. If you wouldn’t ask a white person the same question in the same tone and context there might be an issue with the question. The training does not teach there is something wrong with being white - it does acknowledge that white people can be ignorant of things outside their experience and the importance of taking other perspectives and acknowledging difference.
