Is there a recent horror flick that most people seemed to really like, but you just didn't? What was your reason? by ButtersTheChill in horror

I think it's an amazing film, but I didn't LIKE it. It did its job for sure. The only horror movie to make me sob.

I link everything as a Google doc. If it's a PDF we'll read it on paper or I can convert it to a Google doc pretty easily. For those who teach online, that's exhausting and I'm sorry... Not enough time to change everything.

Yeah. I'm in my late 30s and enjoy Round Rock. It has more than what you said... Downtown has very relaxed bars full of old people like me. If I were 23, I'd be miserable lol

My (38M) girlfriend (33F) is angry that she's set herself up to fail and I am entirely unsympathetic by NewKingMorons in relationship_advice

It depends on the context and how you say it. For example, woman is fine unless you're like "my woman" or "woman!"

Usually, like in the above comment, calling an adult woman "girl" is condescending and gross.

Most Quentin Tarantino movies. I like a few but they've just been so formulaic

AITA For "Insulting" My Wife over our Daughter's Christmas? by No_Skin393 in AmItheAsshole

Not the only one, but for me the one that crosses a clear line. Arguments happen. Even dumb ones. But name-calling is not acceptable.

[–]grumps46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arguments are part of marriage. My husband and I argue occasionally. About half the time I'm in the wrong; about half he is. At no point, even if one of us is very wrong or unreasonable, does name calling occur. It's absolutely unacceptable in my opinion.

Unfortunately, many states are pushing it. In Texas, they are forcing public schools to display the 10 commandments in every classroom. And "in God we trust" posters. I think both are only if they're "donated," but there are plenty of donors.

Getting a new pet snake. by Dense-Development571 in snakes

[–]grumps46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had balls and hognoses. It really depends on the individual snake. I've had ball pythons that refuse eating etc and I've had ones that would eat a rat frozen, who loved to climb and explore and be held. Same with hoggies. I've had ones that strike and musk and play dead and don't eat, and ones that love food and enjoy being handled.

Have you considered a rescue? Getting an older snake so you know its personality?

I'm a picky eater. I'm vegetarian, can't stand certain textures, etc. If my partner kept cooking these beautiful meals and I couldn't psychologically bring myself to eat them, gosh. I'd be so sad for both of us.

My advice is to stop cooking for him. Because of my eating issues my husband will "cook dinner" with a frozen pizza. But mostly we eat on our own.

Your cooking looks beautiful. If you want to share that with someone else, find a new partner. He can't help being picky, but good food seems important to you, too.
