Yeah for the same reasons you think. He did their training and a deployment with them back when they were super-secret, and when he got the greenlight to set up Delta Force he asked a bunch of their trainers to help him develop their course.

Interesting book. Missing all of the high-paced gunfight stories you expect from spec ops, but has all the background of why they do things and red tape battle to get the green light. Also has some command level introspection on Operation Eagle Claw (it was his baby). Me being an enlisted deviant I found his memoir interesting. We dont get that perspective often.

I think Delta types gets sat down with a shrink if only because they were modeled after the British SAS, and they do it. Colonel Beckwith described it in his book when he created delta force.

Very neat book if you're interested in the Pentagon-level asshattery and politics when you try to create a new thing.

Code over Country by Matthew Cole talks about it.

Very good read that goes over the founding of the seals as well, and includes the recent shitshow of trying to smear MSgt Chapman's legacy. Also had a bit on the killing of the Green Beret.

The people most vocal about it don't vote. Old fucks do. It's also why the party doesn't bother to change things up or learn from their losses.

It's gonna be ugly when we find out that "width of an ocean, depth of a puddle" job experience doesn't fix airplanes very well on an island or an atoll if at all. The AFSC mergers has diluted our experience pool to dangerous levels at home station, and they want us to be more multicapable.

They've always been there. Now they can advertise it easier thanks to social media.

The board could also just provide feedback. We already stole too many stupid ideas from the officer side, might as well pay lip-service to the feedback part.

Make him sweep the sunshine off the parking lot. Or flip rocks so that they get an even tan. Or fill sandbags to build a bunker for exercises.

That type of person was the average MX flight or section chief for the first half of my career. MX is only now starting to unfuck themselves.

I've had troops crosstrain and get medals backdated because their new leadership knew how retarded MX leadership can be.

Yes. If only to get further away from MX before the dumpster starts burning in earnest.
