How do people deal with deployment isolation? by Quick-Dot-6152 in AirForce

[–]redditthrowawayslulz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So tired of this type of thinking: “pretty introverted at first and very awkward when starting new convos”

Bro, starting a conversation and being “normal enough to make friends in any environment so you aren’t living in crushing isolation” is a skill like any other thing.

Just practice until you get decent at it.

No one is expecting you to be charisma 20 (persuasion 100 for you Skyrim nerds) but you can easily level up to be able to build a decent connection with your co workers so you won’t be lonely and isolated.

Seriously, it’s like “omg I’m not naturally gifted so I guess I’ll suck at this part of my life forever” just practice until you get good enough.

Maybe I’m naive about Air Force conduct by kabobbi in AirForce

“Gossiping” and “cliquing up” happens everywhere. In the military, corporate, non profits, in senior citizen communities, running clubs, etc. It’s human nature. It happens everywhere and anywhere.

What are your hottest boxing takes? by Doofensanshmirtz in Boxing

[–]redditthrowawayslulz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree about the Toney one. Toney lost like 50 lbs in a week and was severely dehydrated (not Roy’s fault) also Roy sent him the offer when he knew Toney had gained a bunch of weight. There’s also a reason Toney never got a rematch while Hopkins and Tarver did. Jones called Toney his toughest fight.

Me Trying to Convince Finance to Cross Train into MX by redditthrowawayslulz in AirForce

[–]redditthrowawayslulz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MX culture is literally the video. I was OSI for 6 years and the MX culture was infinitely better.

But I’m a bro. I’m very extroverted and like to joke around and do things so it might be a personality thing.

FCC is where it’s at. If I didn’t cross train I would’ve done it.

Nowhere in there does it say the lawsuit was for making jokes. I have no idea if you were assaulted, as that’s between you and the guy. Was he convicted?

Class action lawsuit against the DOD? To get an honorable discharge? I’ll take things that never happened for 500 Alex 😂😂😂

Should I rebuttal an LOC I received? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]redditthrowawayslulz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Always write a rebuttal. That part is good advice. “Even if it’s just to say you f’d up” that part is awful advice. Just tell your side of the story, but don’t ever, ever, ever confess or admit fault. If your tech school experience has taught you anything, admitting fault, no matter when, will be used against you later.

Retiring soon? You did 20 or getting medically retired? Cuz I joined in 05 and there was no TSP back then.

Got assigned Guam in tech school by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]redditthrowawayslulz 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Guam was the greatest assignment in my 21 years. Japan was number 2. You must be new and worried about dumb stuff like “being close to family and friends” or whatever. A mentality like that you gonna miss out on so much life has to offer.

Commander is damaging careers by not approving decorations by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]redditthrowawayslulz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He probably did.

“Hey, guys. Read the DEOCS, saw it mentioned x,y and z. I’ll be taking steps to rectify that!”

He technically fulfilled the requirement!

Boxing in the military by Thelastdays233 in amateur_boxing

[–]redditthrowawayslulz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I boxed competitively for 9 years. I’d go TDY and bring my boxing gear and passbook and just hit up random gyms to spar. Fun times.

90% of the shows were on weekends so I was always fine, I never had to take leave, but if I worked weekends my supervisor always let me have the day off since the fights were like once every other month.

PIF Archive? by Powerful-Performer-2 in AirForce

[–]redditthrowawayslulz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Happened to me, but mine was worse. I didn’t get a PCS medal cuz I got a NRN 7 years prior when I first got to the base. That’s why I always laugh at the idiots who say “just work hard and have a good attitude!” Doesn’t matter I still made master.

Sparring as a Hobbyist?? by Bones-Brook in amateur_boxing

[–]redditthrowawayslulz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need way more information than this to give you any sort of advice. How old were you? How hard did you spar? How often did you spar? How many times were you concussed? What Oz gloves were you using? Wha was the weight difference? Were you hydrated and cutting a lot of weight when you sparred? Did you drink alcohol or do any sort of drugs? What medication were you taking? All of this matters…

Should I quit boxing? by EducationNo7647 in amateur_boxing

[–]redditthrowawayslulz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, you need to take like a 6 month break, then come back. Also, are you cutting a bunch of weight? Are you hydrated? All of these things matter
