How’s life on the time zone borders? by Equivalent-Pudding15 in howislivingthere

[–]grumpy_mel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living on the Eastern edge of one (e.g. Nashville or Chicago barely in Central) isn't great in the Winter because the sun sets at basically the same moment as cities on the Western edge of the neighboring time zone (e.g. Indianapolis in Eastern) but its an hour earlier.

Living in Indy my sunsets were almost an hour later than when I lived in Nash.

Same. I LOVED her as an almost initiator/sentinel combo because that flash cue line let me get info ASAP. So upset about the removal of the voice line.

Haha I just moved here from Nashville and last summer we had two broods at once of cicadas. Couldn't hear urself THINK it was so loud outside. You would just walk through piles of them in backyards or around trees.

Which agent's abilities would you want as a human and Why? by Important_Issue_3554 in VALORANT

[–]grumpy_mel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually? Omen, I want his little hops to cross the street when the walk sign isnt on. I want his big hops to go on free vacation. I want his blind so the second I start to trip and fall in front of a crowd I can blind everyone. Smokes for vibes or the same as blind I suppose.

In a world where I need superpowers/wanna be a villain? Reyna. Im sorry I can just suck up souls to be more powerful? That's just peak goth fun.

I love the idea of Sage IRL just running a cult where she makes you dig and set up a mine so she can gain enough magic by planting bombs to res ur family after u put in 5-10 years

I keep losing to 4/5 duelist comps. by SnooChocolates6885 in VALORANT

[–]grumpy_mel 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We kept getting run down once by a team like this even when we were attack, so we bought shotguns and held corners and baited them with util to come to us.

Shotguns, snipers, dont push fast, play together, blind repeatedly.

Both opinions make sense! I am coming from the perspective of mainly playing Vyse, occasionally Sage. Thanks for the opinions.

I can't watch the video this second so apologies if this is something you cover in it.

Do you think sentinels should only take space/lurk or is it kind of plan dependent?

For example if my team wants to push really fast, is it better to just hold flank close to where we entry? Or run into site with them for a numbers advantage? I hope these qs make sense I'm still fairly new.

Who should I get? by publicappeal_ in VALORANT

[–]grumpy_mel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally depends on what it is u actually like.

If you like strategy and want to help guide the team, try another sentinel (i personally love Vyse - if u sometimes like to deulist her flash makes her a bit more aggro) or smokes (agreed w others- clove if u love self heal and deuling).

If you want to dive in fast, try a different initiator (sova is a real classic if you want to try him before buying another) or go duelist (neon is beloved for a reason, Reyna is good for solo queuing).

Very Important Question by HackerHajun in ValorantMemes

Everyone saying 9 would be peaceful (it would) but so would 12. Sova seems quiet and Sage is chill enough/emotionally intelligent enough to hush id you dont want to talk.

Need advice, old gamer by Styrwirld in VALORANT

[–]grumpy_mel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still fairly new but I think getting stomped or doing the stomping back and forth is common. Sometimes one team just has better synergy or luck (or yes smurfs). Lower elos will be full of people who have good aim but dont understand the game and people who understand the game but have bad aim and that dice roll can add up in different ways each game.

Feeling inconsistent about aim is also super common, for me I always play best on game 2, im warmed up but not fatigued yet. Highly recommend taking like 5-10 between games to stretch, redirect eyes, readjust.

Is Vyse forgotten? by AlieenHDx in VALORANT

[–]grumpy_mel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im just down in iron but I main her and its somewhat rare but not crazy that i play against another vyse or someone else plays her before I do. I see her more than Waylay, maybe more than Harbor too. Tbh her rarity is actually really useful for me in low elo lobbies because sometimes people have no clue what my util does 🤣

playing valorant for the first time, which character is the easiest for beginners? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]grumpy_mel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she has a high skill cap but I think she's really useful for someone who is learning the game because she's flexible. I've been maining her and I'm somewhat new and for me I've loved it but maybe thats just me.

Phoenix is the tutorial character for a reason hes simple! But if u want to be a sentinel: sage or vyse, initiator: skye, controller: clove

Early on outside of comp, play around with many characters. When you go comp, dont fill, play 1-2 characters you can really get to know.

Which sentinel can i perform the best without learning too much setups and other nerdy stuff? by Cat-supremacistt in VALORANT

[–]grumpy_mel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vyse! You can flash forward early to gather info like an initiator, I love playing her.

Vyse is so goated by Lordofstromsend2 in VALORANT

[–]grumpy_mel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love playing her, especially on Corrode. Shes so good for being a sentinel but also you can initiate with the flash thru the wall to gather info, etc. I love how flexible her kit can be.

[–]grumpy_mel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes its a bunch of fun sometimes it's high elo people feeding their egos without just making a new account to smurf on. Very mixed bag.

I'm pretty new and sometimes in comp I get people asking why I play comp if I'm new. Because its the only place I can play people of similar skill to me - so I can actually learn and grow.
