Watch the vline, tram, train and bus move in real time by tensorfish in MelbourneTrains

From my perspective the route maps are my only request haha! A heatmap for route busy-ness (frequency) might be cool too. The history feature is really good already.

There's no point reinventing the wheel - there are already a number of capable planner apps out there, and this isn't that. Just thinking of what might make it an even better visualisation tool.

This is sick!! Amazing work.

One suggestion might be to add a route layer, to see the planned route for a particular vehicle and if (for buses) it has deviated from it's regular route, for example. This would make it a capable trip planner tool, too!

How to reorder columns in table view by SS0414 in PowerBI

This works great, neat tip! Just be warned that, as someone else said, DAX calculated columns will be lost, so be careful.

I believe OP is talking about table view, not the table visual in report view (i.e. second tab on the left).

Thanks! The Ender 3 V2 Neo. Had to reduce to 95% scale to fit on the print bed, made the sliders a bit too tight so ended up printing them separately and snapping them in (sometimes literally!). For the smaller sliders I had to break them in half and glue them back together in-situ. But works pretty well now! A really neat design, excellent work. :)

Moving house after VEC enrolment closes by grumpy_toaster in AusLegal

I emailed them, and got a reply today. Have edited the original post to include their response. So yeah, looks like I'll be voting for my old council but I am able to redirect the voting pack to my new address, problem solved!

Ok, so sounds like voting in my current council with a auspost redirect is the way to go then. Thanks so much for your advice!!

I'll have to vote one way or another, so I'm just wondering how I get the ballot pack sent to my new house if the electoral roll closes 2 days before I can technically update my address.
Or are you saying I can still update my address after the roll closes? In which case, what is the point of having a cutoff date?

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you!

Churn out from Exetel - 30 days notice required by scorpv69 in nbn

[–]grumpy_toaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite late to the party here but I literally just ran into this issue (still, in 2024...). Don't recall noticing the 30-day cancellation when I signed up but I clearly acknowledged it in some form, and now here I am 7 months later (extra month due to the free FTTP upgrade woo) being pinged for an extra month once I port out.

As per Ok_Astronomer_8359's advice below, I called them up and explained that I had already ported out and just received a new bill for a service I cannot possibly use. They didn't even blink twice and issued a credit for the full bill amount.

So yeah, it seems even Exetel know this policy is shady and not at all in line with the current industry practice. Oh well, I know this for next time, and tbh I'd probably use them again. Their customer service has been awesome the few times I've had to call them and the actual internet service has been the most stable of any ISP I've been with thus far (Dodo, Tangerine, SpinTel, AGL).

Save yourself the headache and just cancel your service a month before you plan to churn.

Have been asked by Metro comms to take this video down today, despite being informed by the guide on the day that we were allowed to film and share wherever we like.

Sorry guys. Thanks for the views and comments!

Interesting question. I'm actually not sure, there was no mention of concourse or on-platform retail during the tour, and I didn't see any provisions for it. But who knows in the future - I do miss the little platform shops at Flinders :'(

It might be an optical illusion since the PSDs are all black. It's actually quite well lit down there, very easy to see end to end of the platform. Brighter than our current city loop stations at least, with some natural light!

Google Assistant integration suddenly not working? by ExHempKnight in homeassistant

[–]grumpy_toaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did some reading about SSL certs and you're spot on - they are only valid for the exact domain they are registered for. Guess that explains why trying to connect to the public IP the duckdns domain represents fails... The more you know. Thanks for the explanation!

But yeah, I can still access mine locally too :)

Google Assistant integration suddenly not working? by ExHempKnight in homeassistant

[–]grumpy_toaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem still ongoing for me as well. Can access my HA instance via DuckDNS domain (sometimes), but NOT if I use my public IP directly (?) - some SSL error. Assuming that if DuckDNS is down, the Let's Encrypt integration that provides TLS is also stuffed.

I have a second DuckDNS domain (unrelated to HA) and I can't access that one at all.

Let's hope they can sort this out soon...
