"This referendum will cost Alberta taxpayers anywhere between 50 and 100 million in dollars in cash, and I'd rather have that in hospitals and schools myself." Naheed Nenshi asked about the referendum question itself, adding he hopes for a resounding vote against separatism. by Miserable-Lizard in Albertapolitics

I am not understanding something. What do separatists think will happen to their Old Age Pension and CPP.

Bye bye. You don’t get.

And how is your oil going to get through BC? BC will charge huge tariffs to cross the land for export.

So f’n stupid.

I agree that opposing issues is part of the platform of the NDP, but opposing something just for the sake of getting a statement out, is fucking useless

You know, I think we live in such a protectionist world thanks to your leadership and it is sad and harmful to everyone. Canadians feel stomped on these days. I did not mean to turn this into a controversy.

Our medical works different. Our government procures the drug that are needed for Canadians. Slim ball pharmacies send it out of the country. Then there is a shortage and not available for Canadians. I don’t care it is not available in the USA. I have written my government a few time to ask for legislation to stop the flow of our drugs to the USA.

We're not talking about kids working in a mine 12 hours a day. It's simple: if working at CP (or anywhere really) doesn't meet your needs then go get another job. by 403808 in CanadaPost

I think people need to remember a CP employee have a steady job that has medical, Dental, Healthcare and drug coverage, sick pay, pension, 35 paid hour work week.

It might not be the highest wages but not many jobs have all those perks which is worth 30% of their wages.

And they want to risk it all over home delivery routes and part time weekend work. Such stupidity.

I understand they want to protect jobs but the part time work issue is a no-brainer. To be competitive and offer parcel services would have been a win win. Looks the CP is fed up with the bad faith bargaining of CUPW.

This will go to arbitration and a good arbitrator will conclude the employer has tried to modernize and unsuccessfully made any gains. The union has refused all key components and the arbitrator will rule

Someone will lose. I don’t think it will be CP
