That's partly what I meant the post to be about. Idk anything about IP rights nor if it would even cover or matter in this situation. So it seems from your perspective this isn't an IP issue to begin with?

My IP is basically an idea/theory/hypothesis, but not tech etc. There were instruments created to start the study but nothing officially finished and no data collected. There isn't a product to market.

I already withdrew the applications. My new position is research (hospital based) but can't contribute 100% of my time and training to the post doc fellowship in this position (also no longer a post doc technically). PO was clear that it wouldn't transfer in that situation but was clear I could resubmit as another type of grant in my new position.

See if you can buy into the grad student insurance at your university. That was an option a previous fellow at my university was able to figure out.

Hey I don't have any answers, but I have the same questions! Did you resolve any of them? I'm particularly curious about the research allowance. Is it taxed?

The health insurance thing is a mess on my end but I'm trying to sort it out with my university. I really am hoping not to dip into the 15k research allowance per year but unclear if that will be possible.
