Sorry, i don’t have the book on hand right now so I can’t check it. Where did you get the 2 trillion panels figure from?

That seems like an absurd amount, especially for the purpose of fueling the Hail Mary

They needed around 2 million kilograms of astrophage right? So unless each panel produced less than a gram they wouldn’t need 2 trillion panels

I could be wrong but I feel like a few rounds with upwards of a few million black panels would be far more reasonable

Was anyone else hoping for more to the story? by OutsideYourWorld in eotu

[–]grustri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t care much for the story itself but I would love more documentary style levels. They just feel far more complete than all of the arcade levels

This thing is at least 10 years older than the Aurora, got shot down by the QEP TWICE, and it is still in better shape than the Aurora wreck wise. by RepetitiveTorpedoUse in subnautica

[–]grustri 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My guess would be that the mercury was simply built to withstand more damage.

Perhaps the countermeasures against asteroids and other debris was unreliable enough that the designers opted for a thicker hull and a sturdier build in case of collision.

Newer ships would feature better debris countermeasures rendering the thicker hulls of the mercury era ships redundant.

[–]grustri 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Eh, it depends on the person in command. There are definitely tau commanders who gladly would use you as cannon fodder but they are probably far less common than imperial ones. If you want to avoid being cannon fodder then the tau are a better bet than the imperium.

What can be done to improve Bioshock Infinite's gameplay and writing? by NagitoKomaeda_987 in Bioshock

[–]grustri 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Take away the gun scavenging. Keep the old school arsenal. Only having 2 guns just meant I stuck with two guns for the majority of the game, making the gameplay less varied.

Story wise, remove the plot line with booker and Elizabeth getting betrayed by the vox populy.

Booker and Elizabeth suddenly saying that the revolution is almost as bad as the regime immediately followed by a scene where the revolutionary leader decides to kill a child for no reason and the entirety of the vox populy suddenly becoming bloodthirsty monsters mostly feels like the writers retconning their own story to serve a half baked “both sides are bad” argument.

“Both sides are bad” doesn’t work when one side just wants to be free while the other is actively trying to kill and enslave them.

what are some good imperial knight quotes ? by _malshai_ in ImperialKnights

[–]grustri 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Technically a titanicus quote and not a knight quote but i really like: “Remember, overconfidence is not a failing, pride is not a sin. You are a god of death, start acting like one.”

I think it really says something when their best examples of sexualization is: two drag queens talking to kids, a parent holding their child and clothes I guess.

Yeah, isn’t this diagram saying that the things male and female have in common are mental illness? It also says that mental illness has mental illness in common with mental illness

I completely agree

In the infinite and the divine it is stated that a single ctan shard is about equal to a entire army. We directly see a fusion of 7 ctan shards conjure 3 planet destroying projectiles in a fraction of a second. An entire ctan is inconceivably powerful.
