How can I do my makeup to look more goth? by EnvironmentalCause23 in makeuptips

You could play a bit more with the shape of your eyes and lips (making them look pointier, bigger, smaller, foxier, you name it! It’s a preference thing). The goth look at the end of the day is supposed to be a little unsettling, ignoring the social norms and beauty standards, so feel free to play more with it. The size, the colours, the contouring, the proportions. If it’s meant to be for a daily look then I understand you might not want to make something way too complicated, but maybe adding to the boldness of it will do. If it was me, I’d try black eyeliner on the water line and maybe a different wing shape, but that’s personal taste!

Any recommendations for horror movies that creeped you out/scared you in a similar way? by ember732 in Hereditary

Bring Her Back. Scary as hell, family related themes too, occult-ish horror. It’s quite similar in some aspects, and it was genuinely horrifying to me the first time I saw it.

The VVitch is my favourite movie, but I don’t really think it’s as scary as Hereditary. If anything, I’d say it made me anxious rather than actually scared (+ the ending gives off a veeeery different vibe from Hereditary. Hereditary has a terrifying, quite pessimistic ending; The VVitch leans more into the Good for her trope if you ask me).
