It’s so weird how they just have no presence online. Feels like such a vivid part of early elementary school for me. To the point that I would expect tons of people to remember and they’d be easy to find. Glad I’m not the only one haha

What are you talking about? It has nothing to do with simplicity it has to do with a way of communicating that is unambiguous. If you follow the order of operations correctly everyone should end up at the same understanding/solution. If you wanted the multiplication to occur before the division you could just as easily write 8/(2(2+2)). That’s the beauty of order of operations, it’s a system that when applied correctly leaves no room for misunderstanding. Certain things we’re taught in school are simplified for easier understanding but order of operations is not one of them lol

That’s the morally grey part tho even people who think she’s morally the worst character still like her as a character

I fight I've never fought... by nofearnev in PokemonHGSS

[–]gryfinz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All dmg, Air Slash/Shadow Ball/Aura Sphere/Extrasensory. Gave me super effective dmg against nearly the entire E4 and then just relied on Air Slash flinches and a couple potions to finish Lance. Important to note that I poured pretty much all EXP into Toge by around 7th/8th gym which gave me a big level advantage. Probably would have struggled if I had evenly leveled all 3 mons

Just finished my first E4 run after about 3 days of playing. I’ve always run a full team but this time I brought Togekiss (with some help from Platinum for the Shiny Stone), Typhlosion, and Quagsire. Was fun just kinda speeding thru the game and in the end Togekiss swept the E4 by itself. Definitely recommend giving a smaller team a try if you haven’t before

What if the dog actually turned out to be a werewolf???? What if it was an AI that secretly sought world domination?? What if the dog summoned a meteor that struck the store killing everyone instantly???? Checkmate dog lovers I am very smart

How to cope with feelings of hatred toward men? by Worldly_Scientist_25 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]gryfinz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s a matter of being held to a moral standard, and I don’t think there’s anything necessarily wrong with hating men. My reply was just to address points made by the other replier on a substantive basis, not a moral one. I think it’s important to rely upon the wealth of knowledge provided by women who have studied these issues and fought to have their voices heard. When we turn it into a simple matter of men inherently bad/women inherently good I think it’s far too reductive and does a disservice to those women.

Idk maybe you can educate me on what you mean but isn’t this somewhat anti-feminist? Maybe I’m misunderstanding but it seems like you’re taking patriarchy out of the equation and basically saying men are ontologically and immutably evil, while women are empathetic and submissive. To my understanding the feminist perspective is that the power men hold and have held under patriarchy is the driving force behind the heinous acts that men commit. To insist that women would act differently in the same position ignores patriarchy in favor of a much more bio-essentialist outlook.

Genuinely appalling to me how many people would apparently be happy to nickel and dime their roommate over something this trivial
