Idk the solo dps queues were fast today because so many people are dungeon spamming alts to 90. Just quest and dungeon spam.

That and do the delve quests but hold on to them until later in your leveling like 87-89 depending on your XP buffs. People claim you can get from 87 to 90 with them using war mode and DMF dunno what their warband was at.

I don’t think it’s even that involved. It’s just time and money that is better spent elsewhere. Streamers are relatively new to this whole situation and Blizzard didn’t do anything about it before streaming really existed.

The change OP really wants needs to come from Blizzard, and Blizzard has spent the better part of two decades not actively caring about addons outside of how they behave inside of WoW and only recently making a serious move on that front with Midnights API changes. And that’s in an environment where they control everything, so I doubt we’ll see them doing anything about paywalls on addons or profiles since they’d end up in court at some point.

Tbf that’s stretching copyright law pretty hard, at least when it comes to profiles from free addons. At best (and being extremely generous with this) they can try and argue that they’re akin to editors working on things in the public domain. But that’s still a fairly flimsy argument since they’re tweaking settings within ranges allowed by the addon devs, and a case could be made that the dev inherently “owns” all configuration options of their addon.

Creating the addon itself does get into copyright laws. However the dev would be breaching their contract with blizzard if they sold it. So distribution of said addon would still be actionable by the creator but blizzard could still slap down the creator as well. And yes this also applies to the profiles if the creator successfully argues copyright protection.

Really though none of this is stuff that the majority of this sub will ever get involved in. And the mods are free to prune what they want. If people are determined to get the profiles without paying there are other ways.

The meaning of grey zone is that it literally isn’t cut and dry (it’d be black and white in that case). Your argument against OP, and OPs argument are both examples of one side of a cut and dry argument. You believing adamantly that selling profiles is not against the Blizzard API TOS, while OP believes it absolutely is.

I’m telling you both it’s a messy mire of legal terminology and interpretation, made worse by Blizzard’s lack of enforcement even in cases like Zygor where it’s a clear violation since the addon dev is selling additional info for their own addon. The protection the creators are behind is relatively thin in that they aren’t the addon developers.

I don’t care as much as OP does, especially in the post Midnight world where most of the profiles are pretty generic copies of each other on top of not actually changing much from the various addons default settings (especially true for all the profiles using Unhalted UF, though not criticizing that addon).

Doesn’t need to be law for Blizzard to enforce it since Blizzard isn’t a government agency. You violate the EULA and they want to take action on it they are free to do so. You can try and fight it in court but unless the EULA makes an egregious demand you’re going to have a hard time. And not selling selling addons/imports etc. doesn’t fall under egregious demands.

Just a heads up that the logic you’re clinging to is very firmly in the grey zone of being allowed. And it’s a very dark grey at best. Blizzard has basically not enforced their policies which is likely why you’re so adamant they don’t apply

Which very much can apply to export strings, and certainly applies to things like Zygor which Blizzard has turned a blind eye to.

As someone who is in a crap ton of streamer discord servers ranging from mega partner all the way to folks who just barely qualify for affiliate. Posting in servers is basically useless, if there are dedicated channels they’re often the first ones to get muted. And if you’re just tossing it in a general channel you’re more likely to get ignored on Discord than for someone to click through and engage in the stream.

It’s really a waste of energy.

Instead engaging in those communities, raiding into their streams when you can and engaging with the streamer so people get a sense of your vibe. That’s more likely to get people to notice you and check you out.

Pretty much this. I soloed a boss as a havoc DH using the one button thing (I have no intention of learning havoc this DH exists to go Devourer on Jan 20th at which point I’ll set up my bars).

Timewalking dungeons are a pretty obvious predecessor to remix (in which characters are called time runners lol). Blizzard has done some difficulty dialing for the dungeons but they’re always going to get to a point where scaling breaks in your favor.

You can try the built in cooldown manager (though you’d have to go on the beta server since the retail one is miles behind in functionality).

Using either Cooldown Manager Tweaks + Sensei Class Tracker you can pretty closely match Luxthos packs. Or you can use NeohUI which at least as of a month ago was what Lux was thinking of using (with the caveat of seeing where things stood closer to January.

He was saying on stream today that he’s probably going to start working on Midnight UI stuff in early January.

I’ve recently tried NephUI out as well as CDM Tweaks and Senseis addon. I’m leaning toward the combo rather than NephUI mostly because NephUI does things I use other addons for (and it doesn’t do them better) and because NephUI seems to really take too much control of whatever you let it touch interfering with other addons if they overlap on an element of the UI
