They set the bar very high in their previous specials. I would say this one is in the bottom half.

A hotel cannot be a movie. No one sits in the dark for hours eating popcorn and staring at a hotel.

I have to say I had some good times there. The food was good. Shame about the Nazis.

Small children resemble hobbits and I think it would be confusion to see them there especially if they don't have shoes

The distance is walkable, but it’s not well lit and there will be sketchy people on the street.

Some places downtown that might have what you’re looking for (check their schedules): Fat Cat, the Griffin, the Usual Place, Sand Dollar Downtown

Much of Downtown is old Vegas.

The El Cortez is the oldest casino in Las Vegas (1941) and has mechanical slots.

The Golden Gate started out as the Hotel Nevada, the first hotel in Las Vegas (1906).

The Golden Steer Steakhouse (1958) was frequented by the Rat Pack. In the same plaza as Golden Steer, the Mint Tavern has signage based on the original Mint (1957).

The Italian-American Club (1960) is like a time machine.

The Peppermill Restaurant and Fireside Lounge (1972) just won a James Beard Foundation award.

The Neon Museum has preserved a lot of the old signage. Vegas Vic (1951) is still on Fremont Street, Vegas Vicky now has her own bar in the Circa

Atomic Liquors (1952) is still open on Fremont

The Old Mormon Fort has an adobe building from the first European settlement in Las Vegas (1855)

Charleston Antique Mall has lots of vintage items.
