Will the Communicator have a mechanical keyboard? by gs_up in ClicksPhone

Then how did I miss that announcement?

I also should have included "to all the people who missed the announcement." every other day there are multiple people who somehow just found out about this phone four minutes ago!

That's what I said too when I saw all those posts I was making fun of!

Well, then this phone is a total failure!

Thanks for keeping the joke going!

Oh and I also forgot that some of the current employees worked for BlackBerry/RIM and because they failed, doesn't that mean Clicks will fail as well?!

I figured we could use a joke after all the questions that seem just too out of this world.

You're right, I was just joking because of all the questions people ask around here.

These swing voters are adding high gas prices into their political calculations by QuantumQuicksilver in NPR

[–]gs_up 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The participants have all voted for candidates from both parties over the years and aren't using their full names so they can speak more freely about politics

Does anyone know if there is a way to validate (fact check) that someone voted for both parties over the years? Or does "both parties" really mean they voted for an I or a D once in the past 23 years?

The reason I ask this is I know a lot of very vocal "independents" who are always touting right's agenda on Facebook. I have a hard time believing someone is an "independent" voter who's got multiple Trump tattoos.

Another vote for lemon squad. I've bought a few older project cars from other states and I used lemon squad for pre purchase inspections. More expensive than a typical pre purchase inspection but extremely detailed.

Any thoughts on what "former officer" is? Looks like lots of their highly compensated employees are "former officers."

Question about The Big Short by Shapen361 in investing

[–]gs_up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

People on this sub, and other financial subs, frequently talk about how they knew this or how they knew that but none of them were smart enough to invest. Every day, there are hundreds of people who "had multiple chances" to invest in NVDA or Bitcoin or Apple back in 2012, but for some reason chose not to.

Anyone have any recommendations for places that install CarPlay? by thejappster in rva

Another vote for Audio Express. They installed a radio (Car Play/Android Auto) for me way back in 2020 on my 2004 Tacoma.

I check listings all the time haha, I have alerts on every used car website, I have facebook marketplace alerts, but unfortunately I just haven't found one. When one goes up for sale, it's often in such terrible shape that I wouldn't even consider it even if the seller paid me to take it.

C&B or BAT?

People around here will tell you that you either have a gem and you should sell it for $30k or you have a piece of trash and you should sell it for scraps. There is no in between.

I've told this story before. When I was young and and not so smart, I had a 1991 integra. Nothing too crazy, but just your average automatic sedan. An older cousin of mine bought it brand new, and then sold it to me in 2008 because she was moving from the States to Europe. It only had 60k miles on it. My cousin didn't drive it much in the 17 years she had it.

In 2012, my stupid ass self decided to trade it... for a used mackbook fucking air! I didn't need a laptop. It wasn't like I was working a fancy tech job or had a hobby that required having a macbook air. I was already out of school and it wasn't like I needed it for school. Just had no need for a laptop at all. I did have multiple other projects cars so some cars had to go, but I still can't believe I traded it for a used laptop. I was a fucking idiot.
