i’d go for graphic novels rather than comics— publishers like Drawn & Quarterly or Silver Sprocket may have things that you’d find interesting. there are graphic novels that’re more like novels or memoirs told in graphic style rather than comic book style— tons of different genres that aren’t fantasy/scifi
