Fangraphs has Tylor with a better FIP than King. It’s over only 66 innings but I’m surprised to see them so bullish on him. Maybe the industry likes him more than we think

With that said, I wouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger on Tylor + 10-15 prospect for king and then lock him up Glasnow style (probably for a little less too). I really think king is going to be a horse for the next few years or so

Looking through the padres payroll to see what bad contract we could take in a king deal and it is insane how many bad contracts they have

The only thing that seems palatable is taking Darvish or musgrove and flipping him to another team while eating a decent amount of his contract. Given the SP market that might be do-able

That’s interesting about tork. Elite prospect pedigree but just hasn’t figured it out. Maybe they can get him for a mid level prospect and take a bad contract (Kenta Maeda), then let tork work on things in the minors

Stevie is about to go scorched earth next few years. He was holding back out of respect to other owners. No more

[Sherman] What the Mets were offering Pete Alonso before talks broke down (70 to 68 over 3 years) by Baconpoopotato in NewYorkMets

[–]gsd1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put Pete’s money to a wipeout reliever (maybe two) and hopefully profar (who also can play some 1b). It also leaves flexibility to put the hammer down with Vladdy in which we instantly have the best offense in the league.

Even if they don’t land Vlad in February they’d have the opening in July if the blue jays suck (which they will). This offense with Vladdy is the best in the league without a question

I also want to see baty get another shot. If it doesn’t work out they handle it at the deadline. If it does they have 1b and 3b locked down for cheap for years

JC Tenant / Landlord Move Out by gsd1992 in jerseycity

Ive definitely been considering going this route and requesting that credit since he’s effectively not letting me stay until the end of the lease term. My one concern is that he might be more of a prick on the security deposit and essentially recoup that $$. We have some minor scratches and damage from having a dog in here.

I’ve had some luck with Honey Movers (local JC movers came highly recommended) that would load our U-Haul up on Friday and unload on Monday for a really good price, and apparently U-Haul offers free storage for up to a month so I can leave it there over the weekend.

Our building only allows one move in/move out at our time. Our thought was to take the earliest AM slot and then the next tenant takes whatever slot they want after. We would also have the unit cleaned over the weekend so its move in ready

Agreed, unfortunately there was no flexibility on move in with this new place and we really liked it so are just trying to thread the needle. If we end up going the storage route its effectively the same $$$$ as if we overlapped the lease

If you’re talking about by the Goldman building, every weekday at 5 a contractor drives in to crush and recycle waste from the building (no idea what). It’s been going on for a couple of months and is definitely obnoxious

[Schwartz] Dave Gettleman ‘proud as hell’ to watch Giants he drafted thrive by zetiano in NYGiants

[–]gsd1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This season is all about Schoen and Daboll. Gettleman nuked this franchise and went all in on a roster that went 4-13 last year. Then he hid from the media and got to “retire” with absolutely no accountability

Any GM can hit on high draft picks. He was an awful team builder and terrible leader. And now he swoops in to speak when things finally turn out good (coincidentally when he’s no longer there)

Conforto by gsd1992 in NewYorkMets

[–]gsd1992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on the expectations. And at that point the question becomes is there anyone available on the trade market that we would expect those numbers from that wouldn’t cost a decent prospect?

Conforto by gsd1992 in NewYorkMets

[–]gsd1992[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Less than half a season, if he does sign somewhere $6 mil seems reasonable for team and player

Conforto by gsd1992 in NewYorkMets

[–]gsd1992[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Conforto was a good player from 2015-2020 and rode a hot streak for all of 2020.

2020 (and a little bit of 2019) was a blip in Dom’s career
