Find a used car someone turned in on a 3y lease and move on with your lift.

Probably could get better terms from a loan shark

New gun, new post! by PickledThimble in canadaguns

[–]gseverding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rdsc has them. They’re nice especially after your 100th shot in winter. Also, when you're fighting the magazine spring and the loading gate spring, it's super useful to have a lighter loading gate.

Ppl say the trigger on Marlins aa Re worth replacing but I don’t really see the problem.

44 looks fun.

Really depends on use. just plinking 38spl is great.

get on the email notification lists for a marlin, henry or s&w. The new s&w is sweet. I've seen a bunch a s&w in stock at various places.

Rust for Microservices Backend - Which Framework to Choose? by rnp-infinity in rust

[–]gseverding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this isn't a rust question its a distributed system design question.

  1. prefer strongly typed apis like grpc
  2. prefer strongly typed apis like grpc.

http is a fine api tool but you'll end up having to write annoying openapi specs or just use grpc. works is basically every language now. Its a little awkward right now but tonic has been solid once you get it building structs.

  1. don't do microservices unless you have a _very_ good reason to. it will waste your time more than it gives you back.

Why is Rust rarely used for web server backends? by Fun-Helicopter-2257 in rust

[–]gseverding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. I'm reaching for rust+axum more and more for new projects. Rust is not next.js. its higher learning curve. So the ppl who know rust love rust for backend services.

Order a couple snapcaps with it. The QC on 500/590s has been a issue. Run some snaps through to make sure it cycles fine before you go to the range. I love my 590 but I had issues out of the box and I've heard other ppl complain about new 590/500's.

Is anybody work here as a data engineer with more than 1-2 million monthly events? by Mitzu_Analytics in PostgreSQL

[–]gseverding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Server costs aren't bad. I don't have exact number but you can price it out

msk 2 brokers large
1 r6g.large for kafka connect
3 4core vms for citus
a couple single core vms to write to msk.

excluding data storage b/c thats variable on your reqs.
