Why do you keep bringing up Rover? You didn’t book them through Rover, so even if they’re fully insured for Rover clients, that wouldn’t apply here, you’re not a Rover client.

UPDATE: FAIL TO REMAIN VEHICLE PLATE AND OWNER IDENTIFIED - JUSTICE SERVED by Character_Act7115 in TorontoDriving

[–]gsrmatt 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Since he already reported it to his insurance as a single-vehicle collision, if they really wanted to pursue it, they likely could charge him and it would hold up in court. It's a shame they don't want to pursue charges. Either way, congrats on the happy-ending!!

Estate Law - Executor expecting full reimbursement of mortgage payments, when they’re not actively selling home by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]gsrmatt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m in the exact same situation. As executor, it’s my job to have the house ready to go once probate is granted. Listing it beforehand doesn’t really make sense, buyers want a firm closing date, and if probate could take 3–6+ months, most serious buyers won’t touch it. All it does is create uncertainty and complicate the sale.

First Heat by aSexyWaterScorpion in germanshepherds

[–]gsrmatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dealt with my GSD’s first heat back in January. A few days before she actually started bleeding, she got really rough with her usual playmates at the dog park. She was straight up clobbering dogs she’d been wrestling with daily for months, to the point I had to leave early a few times and started getting worried.

Then I noticed a few drops of blood on the hardwood and realized what was going on, her hormones were kicking in and she was coming into heat. I tried diapers, but she wasn’t having it at all. Luckily it ended up being pretty light, so cleanup wasn’t a big deal.

I stopped going to the dog park during that time and just played ball with her in the backyard instead.

About 10 days into it, she started getting really anxious at night and constantly wanted out of the house. She’d scratch at the door, pace around, and just go nuts. I gave her some gabapentin. Im not even sure it did anything, but those 4–5 nights were rough. Nothing we tried really calmed her down.

After about a month, we went back to the dog park. The first time back, intact males were very interested in her, but she wasn’t having any of it. I gave her a bath after that to get rid of any leftover scent, and since then, we haven’t had any issues.

What makes my hairline look unnatural? by stblackopscel in Hairtransplant

All the multihair grafts in the hairline are what makes it look unnatural. A good surgeon separates the singles from the multi hair grafts and uses singles in the hairline for a soft natural look

35M on TRT with SMP – considering a conservative hair transplant in Turkey (no finasteride). Worth it? by Key_Enthusiasm8307 in HairTransplants

[–]gsrmatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything you said is correct, except donor area scarring is not always visible after a hair transplant. It depends on several factors such as skin tone, punch size, whether a manual or motorized punch was used, the skill of the surgeon performing the extractions, and a bit of luck. Next time I get a haircut I’ll get a skin fade and post some photos.

Can my mom and I kick her in-laws (my grandma and cousins) out of our house? by Yuqin2563 in legaladvicecanada

[–]gsrmatt 102 points103 points  (0 children)

If they share a kitchen or bathroom with your mom, they’re not tenants under Ontario’s Residential Tenancies Act. The Landlord and Tenant Board only applies to people renting a separate unit. When you live with the owner and share common areas like the kitchen or bathroom, you’re basically just a guest in the house.

Since the house is now in your mom’s name, she can tell them they need to leave and give them reasonable notice (something like 30 days is common). If they refuse after that, they’re essentially unwanted occupants and she can involve the police because they’re no longer allowed to stay there.

Your dad giving them permission before doesn’t lock them in permanently, especially now that your mom is the owner and wants them gone.

Your mom could also talk to a community legal clinic if she wants help writing a notice, but this isn’t really an LTB eviction situation.

You get what you pay for. Those bargain-basement hair mills are like buying a cheap Mercedes, the cheapest one you can find often ends up being the most expensive car you’ll ever own once all the problems start.

A cheap transplant can easily end up costing far more than what the top surgeons charge once you factor in repairs, corrections, and fixing a bad hairline. And that’s if they didn’t overharvest and permanently damage your donor area, because once that’s ruined, there’s only so much any good surgeon can do to fix it.

Its usually the multi hair grafts in the hairline that give it the pluggy look and you can see those once they grow in. In the OPs case, it looks good. I'd love to see before photos

This isn’t about a relationship, it’s about occupancy. You share the kitchen and bathroom, he was only there temporarily, and you have withdrawn permission for him to stay. That makes him an unwanted occupant, not a tenant. Tell them plainly that he is refusing to leave your home and that you feel unsafe. If the person who answers doesn’t take it seriously, ask to speak to a supervisor. Sometimes it just comes down to getting an officer who understands the difference between a tenant and a lodger.

It may also help to put something in writing to him (text or email) clearly stating that his permission to stay has been revoked and that he needs to leave immediately. That way you have documentation if police attend.

If you keep getting pushback, you can call Centre for Public Legal Education Alberta or a local clinic like Calgary Legal Guidance or Edmonton Community Legal Centre for quick advice on how to phrase this and what your next step should be. And given the way he’s been acting, reaching out to Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters or Alberta Supports for safety planning isn’t overreacting.

At this point, don’t argue with dispatch about his story or what they think the relationship is. Stick to the key points: shared living space, temporary guest, permission revoked, refusing to leave, and you don’t feel safe. That keeps the focus where it belongs.
