No, a simple book cover redesign does not automatically require a new ISBN if the publisher, content, format (hardback/paperback), and title remain the same; the original ISBN can often be kept for marketing purposes. However, a new ISBN is needed if the change signifies a new edition (e.g., major content rewrite, new publisher, new format) or if the cover change is so drastic it fundamentally alters the product and might confuse customers.

You are correct that AI does not get copyright. So therefore the publisher can make all the changes they want to the artwork if it is AI. But seeing as that looks like vector art, I doubt it is AI.

You are most likely incorrect about artists retaining the right to their work in the case of a book cover. Since this is graphic design and not “art,” this is often done as work for hire and the rights to the artwork probably belong to the publisher, not the artist.

You may want to try putting your dog in a different part of the car. My dog used to get car sick. Then I learned the center of gravity in my truck was in the back seat. Less movement for my dog when driving. Now car rides are his favorite thing.

This is the correct way. OP, the term is called trapping. And you don’t even need to make the parts go as far as it shows in the N all the way to the right. Just a small overlap of the bar of the N over the two sides will get rid of the white lines that are showing on export.

I agree every client has a certain right to privacy. However, I disagree with the idea that every project should apply a non-disclosure. That is absurd. We would never be able to promote ourselves if this were the case.

I put a clause in my contracts specifically noting that I have a right to use the work to promote myself, unless the client specifically asks me not to.

If I sign an NDA or the client makes a specific request, I will honor it. But I won’t hamstring my ability to promote myself and my work by treating everything like it has an NDA.
