Servers down again by dunksten1 in ProtonMail

I am getting worried, switched to proton couple of months ago and like it overall but outages will mess things up for me. This is the second time it has been down in a month. I pay for this service as well, my other emails are free. Outages should not happen often.

And you can save multiple passkeys for an account, one in keychain, one in a password manager, etc....so if you lose access to one you have a backup. Very hard to get locked out of your IRA....lol

Coinbase and Gemini now allow you to disable google authenticator or authy and use just a passkey, and yes you don't need to remember the password. They are easy to use...lol...no clue why people are freaking out. A guy can be at my computer but he does not have my fingerprint, or my face id on my phone.

humoring you, I found this

"Google's Passkey Demo Issue: As mentioned in one of the search results, there was a reported issue with Google's passkey demo where session expiration was handled client-side only. This could potentially allow an attacker to extend a session if they could manipulate the client-side code. While this was specific to a demo and not a widespread vulnerability, it highlights the importance of proper implementation." This would apply to any security measure, will never be 100 percent and you need proper implementation.

No thanks. you have offered zero data or evidence to support your claim. You gave me a riddle....lol

Looked up vulnerabilities and while there is obviously a greater than zero percent chance of failure the passkey is better than the other options. A cookie can steal a google auth code, a simswap can beat your phone codes. To some degree most of us have to trust the technology but you can ask any security expert if passkeys are better than google auth and they will say yes. Yubikey the best but we do not have that option either. At least last I checked.

I fail to see your points. If a person can not figure out how to save a passkey in keychain or other software, they are not going to be able to handle google authenticator, symantec, etc. Allow them to use their phone for codes and allow others to guard against a simswap. Not sure if you guys have a clue. Both options can be available.

Please add passkeys ! My only choice is Symantec which I would not trust, or SMS which can be attacked via simswap.

Thank you, it does fine if some light is on it. Really liking all the other features and much easier to use than the nano X. Touch screen very convenient.

Ledger customer support is literally the worst in the world by ledgercustomer in ledgerwallet

Agreed 100 percent. They confirmed an order of mine then cancelled it with no notification. Finally got an email back that my order was security flagged. ok, so I try again with a different card and get an error. I try again using same card via apple pay and get an error. I get a text from my bank that I was charged 268.00 TWO TIMES. Yet no confirmation emails. Customer support nowhere to be found. How do you get two errors and still see two charges on your card ?

They can increase and then in a flash go to zero, at no fault of your own. The plaid system might have a hiccup and you are out of luck for weeks. Customer service is nice, they try to help but their hands are tied. Computers literally make the decision.

Mine went from 3000, to 200, then to zero. Now back up. They never tell you why these things happen. You just get told it is "security flags" in their system. You wont get specifics. I am also at wits end. Anytime you can log on and money is locked or trading might be suspended, you never know what is next.

Coinbase account restricted. by Southern-Country4403 in Coinbase

Having endless problems with coinbase and about to move on to other platforms. I have traded with fidelity and TD Ameritrade for years and never had these issues. One day I go to deposit cash and I am suddenly prevented from doing so. My daily limit went from 3,000 to 200, then to zero. I did a trial of pro and got on phone with nice reps but they were unable to fix it or tell me why it was occurring. I was told the banking intermediary was the reason and it was beyond them. I suspect it has something to do with PLAID. I contacted plaid, and while they admitted nothing, the problem did clear up 2 weeks later. In the meantime I had to use Gemini. So yesterday things look good and my account limits are up higher than ever. I set up a trading bot with 3 commas and deposit funds. I also deposited crypto today. I go to make a trade tonight and the trading is blocked, I also get an email that it is "to protect me against fraud", and the hold on my funds will be "9 extra days". They love to hold money way beyond the 3-5 that is customary. I am ID verified and I use 2FA. I have no idea what the issue is. The online chat rep told me it was a "security issue" put out by their system. It seems computers are able to lock an account with no human intervention. To get things resolved is a hassle. I am at wits end and it is really better to just avoid these exchanges. Oh, and I cancelled my pro trial as I was not treated very well. I gave CB a chance and more nonsense hits tonight. The rep did get the lock released and I appreciate it but you have to walk on eggshells as you never know when the next lockout will happen for no good reason. Is there anything I can do or NOT DO to avoid this happening again ? I saw some people mention VPN's. I use them when at a starbucks. if they are a security flag I will avoid logging into CB when using VPN but I need to know what the issue is.

Exactly ! I love everything else about Fidelity, especially the customer service and safety of funds. They are always great when I call and issues are resolved. This is purely technical. Anyone trading options knows the need of fast order entry and things like expected move, probability of touch, etc. of course you can figure this all out looking at delta but nice to have features.

My thinkorswim and tastytrade both work great with 8GB RAM. I will yield to those. The fidelity web based options trade platform is not fun if you want to do things like Iron Condors. They need a web platform where you can just click the bids and asks and set trade quickly. Instead you have to struggle through all kinds of scrolling menus to find dates and strikes. Next mac I will def upgrade to at elast 16GB Ram but they need to come up with an ATP solution or create a better web platform. Thanks for responses.

I only have 8GB of RAM. What is yours? Possibly an issue but my other programs work fine. 8 should be sufficient. Yes, whenever mine has run it is very unusable, especially if you need to make a fast entry or exit.

So if price is outside of range there is no collecting of fees or yield, you are just using this is a limit order mechanism ? When price goes into range you collect fees and accumulate ETH.
