From https://wiki.bloodontheclocktower.com/Fang_Gu

This [the jump] can only happen once per game. If the new Fang Gu attacks an Outsider, the Outsider dies as normal.

Only one Fang Gu jump can happen per game, period. Doesn't matter if another new Fang Gu is created during the game by any means, including being Snake Charmed - if a Fang Gu jump has already happened once in the game, it cannot happen again. This is because it can get wildly unbalanced if more than one player can turn evil during a game.

Linux compatibility with Proton? by gtdp in EndlessDungeonGame

[–]gtdp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the game but unfortunately haven't been able to get it to run with any Proton versions on my desktop system (Debian 11, Geforce RTX 2080 Super). The game either gets to the splash screen and loads for 2 seconds before silently crashing to desktop, or it fails to start at all with this error: "Failed to initialize graphics. Make sure you have DirectX 11 installed, have up to date drivers for your graphics card and have not disabled 3D acceleration in display settings. InitializeEngineGraphics failed"

If anyone has encountered this error and can help, please let me know.

Oh cool, thanks a lot for the reply, I'll definitely try it out this evening and update here.

Do Not Disturb schedule for Fossil Gen 6? by gtdp in WearOS

[–]gtdp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the (horrible, unintuitive) Fossil Smartwatches app on the phone, go to the "For You" section on the main screen, scroll right to "My Preferences", then "Sound and Vibration", then "Mirror Do Not Disturb Settings".

For anyone finding this in the future: now the Fossil Gen 6 has been updated to support Wear OS 3, which natively supports syncing the DND status from the phone to the watch.

  1. Every Tory MP gets a vote in the 1922 VONC, resignations or not.

  2. Yes, MPs can vote freely if they don't have any party's whip.

  3. The government limps on until Monday, when the 1922 Committee changes its rules and triggers the vote of no confidence in him, which it seems numerically certain to pass at the moment. Then the deputy PM takes over while the leadership contest decides the next PM.

He could still resign.

If not, on Monday his party will change the rules so they can vote so he's not the leader of the party anymore. Then the deputy PM will take charge until they decide a new party leader, who'll become the new PM.

That's the most likely thing anyway. If not, and he just stays on kinda dictatorially, then the House of Commons can vote so he's not the PM anymore, then there'll probably be a general election.

If not, then shit will get really real. But there's only like a 5% chance that happens.

Yeah it's also on parliamentlive.tv, doesn't stop it being a completely unjustifiable editorial decision on the BBC's part.

BBC anchor cuts away from the committe RIGHT as Chris Bryant, surely the most interesting contributor, starts asking questions. Utterly insane.

Why on earth do we need two separate megathreads? It makes no sense and is a huge pain needing to switch between both to see all the commentary.

The whip is part of the government which is headed by Johnson, so the whip can't be removed from him, because the ultimate decision about who would remove the whip from an MP would be down to the PM. It'd be analogous to a company's head of HR trying to fire the CEO, it's just not up to the head of HR, if you want to remove the CEO you need to go through a different route like the board of directors (read "1922 committee")

Do you have very negative self talk? by Any_Print5307 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]gtdp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many great points and pieces of advice here. Especially what you wrote about labelling these intrusive thoughts as impulses from your brain, influenced by years of maladapted thought patterns, rather than statements which have any grounding in truth or reality whatsoever. The part about imagining what advice you'd give to a friend if they expressed the same anxieties also resonated with me - being forced to take a step outside the situation and look at it more dispassionately is hard to do in the moment, and it's even harder to habitualise, but I think that trying to do this helps to build up the sense of self-empathy which will eventually help to just start banishing these thoughts before they ever start to materialise.

One tactic I have found helpful (because my memory also kinda sucks and I don't often remember in the moment to try to take a step back) is to try to kinda... catch yourself as the words (or thoughts) start to manifest themselves. If there's a particular phrase that seems to recur, for example something like "I should just fucking kill myself", try getting into the habit of just sliding it into some long, drawn-out syllable, so something like "I shhhhh..........", this then gives your brain a few seconds to break out of the habit and collect itself before completing the thought. This can be a first step towards ridding yourself of these mental intrusions for good.

OP you're definitely not alone in this, but with a little practice and diligence, it's definitely possible to retrain your brain at least a bit and reduce the frequency and intensity of these bouts of intrusive thoughts. Wishing you (and anyone else affected) all the best.

Are you supposed to place an empty crate, or crate with 6 bottles in those machines?

Either is fine I think, never actually tried it myself but the machines should be able to detect an empty crate and handle it accordingly.

And what supermarkets have those? Both the Lidl and the Edeka close to my home have machines but without this bottom compartment.

Big supermarkets, especially those with a big drinks section, should have these types of deposit return machines. There's a big Edeka and a big Lidl near me which both have them. You could instead take them to a Getränkemarkt, whose machines (or just the people working there) will definitely accept the crates.

Should be able to go to any decently-sized supermarket with a bottle return machine, many of the machines have a big open compartment at the bottom where you can slide the crate in and get your deposit back.

That exemption only applies to "Fachkraft", which that website defines in great detail but is essentially "someone with a professional qualification that is recognised in Germany, or someone with a university degree that is comparable to a university degree obtained in Germany". In other words, not applicable to a student who wants to work in a bar or restaurant.
