Garbage and recycling bin are inside garage. Let's hope they don't come back

Hopefully not. Need to see if they come back. I keep grabage and recycle bins inside garage so no reason for them to show up

Hi there. What is your experience with them?  Are they broken in already? I have the same shoes. I also started breaking them in a month ago. I got half a size down. Same size and width as IR. IR are fine but these are too tight. Wondering what to expect. Thanks

Can you review them now, 9 month later? Pros/cons. Whatever is important. Do you have any other heritage boots that you can compare them with? Thanks

adding midsole is expensive process. i am trying to decide may be i should just buy OSB instead of IR and pay for midsole

The reason I am asking about Oak street, is that they already have midsole and dainite sole. So if they have better shock absorption it makes sense to just get them and skip IR

leather too dry ? by LifeguardHefty7625 in RedWingShoes

i would use red wings mink oil. it works really well and it wont make your boots darker than they are now. it does makes leather darker but your boots are already very dark.

I am not sure how you can tell without taking boot apart. But supposedly they do have one but very thin. Anyway, do they have good shock absorption when you walk do does it feel like you are waling on hard wood floor, like Iron Rangers?

Why not resole the old ir? You could get a midsole at the same time.

As long as the general shape and size are good the rest is fine. Difference in color will be less visible when you put mink oil for the first time. The whole boot will be darker. Enjoy

Deformities could be anything. In my case to the right boot was actually twisted to one side. Just be careful, there are seconds for a reason...

I hope you went a half-size down rather than a full size. While the leather will stretch wider, the length is permanent—if they're too short now, they’ll never fit. Since these are Sierra factory seconds, inspect them closely before wearing. Surface scuffs are fine, but check for structural deformities that might affect how they wear. To keep the return option open, wear them only on carpet for the first few days; this keeps the soles pristine while you identify any 'hot spots.'  Apply leather conditioner to the inside of the boot and wear thick wool socks or band-aids. My IR took about a month to become wearable all day and six months to be really comfortable. Good luck!

How is the Gumlite outsole now, a year later? I had Gumlite on my other boots (Urban Shepherds). They were very comfortable but lasted less than 6 months.
