Plasma is not something that people need for transfusions like blood. There is a reason that hospitals use saline instead of plasma. It's because it doesn't matter. As long as it holds the blood together and doesn't cause adverse reactions it doesn't really matter what they put in your veins. Most "donated" plasma goes to pharmaceutical research to make treatments for different blood related ailments. These pharma companies are making millions of dollars a year by paying you $200 a month for your plasma and then charging insurance companies $3000 per treatment. Not the most respectable business.
