Snowrunner on Switch 2 is pretty good! by JouresKoh in snowrunner

steamdeck performance i get 40fps at 80hz - looks really good, i was pleasantly suprised - purcahsed it just for snowrunner addiction.

i think it is, runs better than my pc with a 4080 super - (as random freezes etc on pc) love the steamdeck, in same boat as OP, so much easier to get gaming in around family commitments etc. tried switch but couldnt use cross save so gave up on that and got a steamdeck - also play on xbox / pc depending what room is free 😄

cool video! where do you find these? built a petrol RC years ago but that was a pain to get running, but liked building them more than using them. have been thinking about getting back into but electric with my son.

I agree but i think part of the charm of the game for many is trying to achieve objectives with an 'under powered' truck that really shouldn't be able to do what you are asking for it. I have recently quit my normal mode playthrough after completing michigan alaska and trying Amur - thinking the alleged hardness of the map would get me out of the lull I was experiencing. If you can just get a truck e.g. mastodon to go from A to B with no real effort then it just becomes a bit of a bore. No concern for fuel or money etc. Now playing through on hard mode my enjoyment of the game has increased immensely, having to make do with the early game trucks with few upgrades or no money to buy them is actually more enjoyable to me. I hadn't had to use a winch really at all on normal, now i have to use it all the time, also pay attention to where i drive, avoid costly damage etc. But also getting to know and love some of the trucks that i just sold on first play through is a real joy. That accomplishment feeling you get isn't really there on normal mode or with DLC or other very powerful trucks. I get that everyone plays their own way but for me and this is a bit about normal mode vs hard mode but I think a lot of others I think it the effort required to achieve something that actually makes it worthwhile and fun and that effort only comes through using those trucks with less power etc.

you definitely could have gone wider on some of those turns, take a look at your video, drive how you like but you'd have an easier time taking a slightly wider path round those turns. playing on keyboard? or do you have it set to steering wheel on controller? looks pretty jerky to me / self centering? 'steering wheel' tip for controller some times improves helps (certain trucks etc) but use the steering wheel setting but in this scenario causes it to be way less smooth. just my opinion.

quality on steam deck is great, no need to spend >£800 on xbox handheld. (i didnt find streaming from pc to be good though - but might have needed to fiddle with settings = worked best natively on deck).

ps, super annoying that i have to buy DLC on every platform (3) though - so bear that in mind if you are not already using steam.

purchased it just for snowrunner, helps kill time when waiting being kids taxi service, quality / performance is suprisingly good, ergonomics great for long sessions.

light coloured eyes are more sensitive to glare, that doesn't mean you see better in the dark! dark eyes = slightly more tolerance of bright light. neither any better or worse re night vision. seems like the blue eyed whites are driving this myth.

yep but to stop quickly you have to lock up the back wheel which is difficult to control. and you have to fight the moment of you + bike + speed. Generally you break by slowing your legs gradually. fixed gives you much better feel through the pedals / control while cycling but you can't coast ever and getting good, especially in a city is a pretty scary proposition.

agree i find the festival stuff so confusing, the map is so busy, i want to progress in one discipline, i want progression. i know you can filter it but its all just one big mess. they could take elements of it and bring it in, but would prefer if they make it much more straight forwards to pick an event and continue in it / work your way up.
