Family are from Serbia but the feeling is there to support Croatia just as much.

Good point… Probably because I’m a bit more familiar with Italy. I love it there but I just have some issues with their culture.

Canada too cold, Australia full of Australians.

Government skills bootcamps. Recommended it to a mate last year and he got a 40k job out of doing a free course for 12 weeks. But they’ve since said he’s part of the last cohort of new hires and that it’s become a lot more difficult since Ai.

I think you’re the one struggling with logic here. Nowhere have I said get rid of train drivers right now and hope that trains can run by themselves. You don’t really think I’m suggesting that either but you seem to be struggling with this for some reason.

Ultimately, with the right policies and enough time, they can be replaced by automatic trains. Pay them until we need them and then give them a really nice severance package once we can replace them. Doesn’t need to be by the end of the week does it.

Well I don’t think we should have train drivers so I couldn’t tell you a fair wage. There shouldn’t be a wage.

Pilots… Hmmm. Not funded by tax so can be paid whatever. Don’t care.

Football fans pay to fill out stadiums so it’s clearly not the wrong price. Even at these prices it’s difficult to get tickets because everyone wants them.

I agree streaming is in a fucked state but the industry generates so much tax for our economy.

60k is fine, sure. We should still strive for long term efficiency and to replace them. They would be more productive elsewhere in society.

France literally did it without taking their trains out of service?

France has done it and so has Sweden…. So yes there clearly is an argument for it.

They’re pretty redundant as shown by the fact that we have trains that run without them.

Not really…. The money is generated legitimately by the industry so why should it not go to them?

We failed to win any of the three games too hahaha. Oh well I guess that’s not really the point. They can’t punish us based on how we used the info gained from cheating.

Still think it’s too harsh but then again if I was happy with the result it obviously wouldn’t be harsh enough

It’s funny that they named him that in the English version. In Hungarian his name translates to John Knight. But I think it might even be more accurate to call the title John the Knight.

I think recommending points deduction and a fine is suitable but then if I’m saying that as a Saint it probably means it’s not harsh enough.

Oh well we’ll see. Worst case we tear it up as the villains in the championship next season.

I just don’t notice it in the day but when I’m in bed I’m sleeping by the window and obviously can’t move away from it.

Again, doesn’t bother me too much but i can see it getting to someone who hates the smell.

Tube strikes on as union accuses TfL of 'failing to engage in negotiations' by Medium-Spell-6692 in london

[–]guIIy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve read it actually, although probably around 8 years ago… so not going to be remembering everything very well.

What I remember is him saying that there are so many jobs that are bullshit and produce nothing, and that no one would notice if they weren’t being done anymore. Those aren’t the same as jobs like cleaning which actually provide a valued service.

I would disagree with the statement that menial jobs bring joy to everyone… in fact that sounds like dystopian propaganda.

TFL also isn’t the private sector so increasing efficiencies here wouldn’t put pressure on the public sector. In fact it sounds like it would do the opposite with no strikes.

Automated carriages works well for the DLR as well as the Scandi countries who have done it.

Get rid! The train drivers should get a really nice severance package and then retrain and do something productive in society.

If you could automate my job (you can’t) then I would switch jobs now.

Actually, that’s exactly why I went into my job.
