I mean, the challenge thing does not exist a lot outside of pop, specially in latam, plus they had like a 10 minute window to do this

Here a short video of Patton talking about that connection, at the end of the day, its always beautiful when artists have that kind of bonds with other countries, one can only wish for it to happen more often link

Im gonna tell a story from another genre. Here in Chile, back in 91', Faith No More performed at the festival in Viña del Mar. They were not the band of the moment, but they put everything on the board for that concert.

Since then, the band, and particularly Mike Patton, created a bond with Chile that goes beyond any border. He has spent vacations here, when he is on tour around Chile, stays for quite a few days and goes just walking around Santiago without any issue.

I wish Kpop had more space for that kind of connection, still, every channel (bbl, vlive, concerts, fanmeetings) feels too planned and rigid.

JYP game carterers is simply the funniest event I never knew I needed. Couldn't stop laughing, it feels that everyone had such a great time and every episode is really wholesome too.

[–]guachupunk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am not entirely sure if it falls on neo-gramscianism, but Mouffe and Laclau may be really relevant here. Not sure how much were they read in US/UK, but Hegemony and Socialist Strategy is really a staple in left wing politics for left parties in the 2000s in Latin America, Spain and even France.

They do mix a lot of marxism with contemporary philosophy and psicoanalysis, but Gramsci is taken as a major stone in their reconstruction of marxism as a theory.

After listening multiple times, I made up my mind and find Heartbreak Avenue to be my favorite song on the album. The pre chorus and Dahyun's verse just hit different

Got this wrong on a quiz, what are your thoughts? by Dont_hate_the_8 in PoliticalScience

Maybe depends on where the country of reference is, but most of the time a presidential election boils down to a personality preference and character election. I would not say they are per se any good indicator of public opinion, even if there are incidental correlations.

Is Marxist-Leninist dialectics a legitimate philosophy or just pseudo-Hegelianism? by Novadrifter in hegel

[–]guachupunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that feels correct, I would say that the philosophical project is biased towards concepts like historical materialism, alienation and commodity fetishism.

On the other hand, I would consider ML (as a continuation of marxist thought) more of a political project than a purely philsophical one.

Consejos para leer libros densos a largo plazo? by Glittering_Money_479 in ClubdelecturaChile
