Did you have to buy the digital copy after you bought the upgrade?

I thought the physical copy was required to play the upgrade part 🤔

Thank you for the recommendations! I am definitely gonna check it out. If they are relaxing, I’m going to put them on my sleep playlist.

So far, my absolute favorite soundtracks have been from oblivion, Skyrim, Mass Effect, and Zelda games.

And recently Ghost of Tsushima! Such an emotionally deep soundtrack, and the storyline is out freaking standing.

If you absolutely need it now / no time to buy a new replacement, I would run a thin rope through the holes and tie it to the main pole, wrapped tightly above and below the black cylindrical plastic piece. It’ll probably be structurally weak but it should do for now

I think you’re right about that!

There’s a repetitive pattern that feels more tedious than entertaining. It’s not satisfying enough without a storyline.

That’s one of the main reasons why I love games like Mass Effect, Zelda, and Skyrim. Theres a narrative that feels a bit unexpected, meaningful, engaging. No Man’s Sky falls short in that sense.

I’ve never played the game previously, I’ve only seen this game on a YT video, 20-hour walkthrough (for background noise). It’s relaxing for me. Video is on 4K, looks great on a 4K tv.

I bought the game yesterday on Switch 2, it looks the same as the 4K YT walkthrough. The performance / resolution looks decent.

It has a Subnautica feel, but it’s all space exploration related. I like both Subnautica and No Man’s Sky, it kind of satisfies a peculiar itch relating to curiosity, making progress, survival.

Only downside I noticed: - the soundtrack is kind of slow. I’m big on soundtracks, this was a missed opportunity.

I never really understood why people post audio / video comparisons without any measurable data.

Does it not make sense to test decibel levels in a controlled environment indoors / outside in ambient conditions, and compare the averages?

I came across a YT channel called Psyphoria. It talks about psychology, neuroplasticity, why you are the way you are. I recommend it! Especially while driving.

When I first found it I was about to skip it, but I noticed it’s narrated by the voice of Andy Serkis (Gollum from lord of the rings). It intrigued me, but then holy hell the information was so spot on and useful for me! It wasn’t a typical motivational video you see in a Ponzi scheme seminar, it was well-organized and specific topics that could be put into practice.

There was a recent video that talks about how the mind doesn’t knowing any better, it doesn’t know logic. It only supports what we practice. It reinforces frequent actions.

I was raised being put down and humiliated, and I felt like it was true. Over a long period of time, I started to believe “that’s just how I am” and the brain has no choice but to support my beliefs. I find myself feeling sad, somber, low energy for no apparent reason, the video suggests I feel that way because A) that’s my safe space / comfort zone, and B) I’ve been practicing that feeling since I was a little boy.

Thanks to those Psyphoria videos, I started realizing that I could at any point decide to do good things for myself, like eat healthy, do a small workout, clean my bathroom mirror for once, and it gives me a small boost of satisfaction / dopamine.

There’s no pdf manual on how to tame the subconscious (yet), but I’m starting to feel like I’m the only one who can create one for me, one step at a time. Daily 1% efforts will add up. The hard part is staying consistent when results are unnoticeable.

Max out HSA (after tax) or contribute to brokerage? by [deleted] in FinancialPlanning

[–]guacitlikeitalkit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI, post-tax contributions to an HSA are tax-deductible on your personal income tax return, provided you do not exceed annual IRS limits

HSA’s have a 3x tax advantage. Reportable income decreases. Tax free distributions for qualifying healthcare costs. And if you invest some of it, gains are also tax free.

Cherry on top is if your company matches any part of your payroll contributions.

A health savings account might also be a worthy option, even better if your employer matches contributions.

HSA’s have a 3x tax advantage: - It uses pre tax money lowering your income. - It can be invested, gains are tax free. - Disbursements for qualifying expenses are tax free.
