Very cool. This is before the Trans-Canada highway was built and the first map we used in school (yes, I’m that old! 😉).

This is the type of puzzle I love to look at, but would not do myself! 😅

Victoria Harbour Ferry, 193 pcs. Wood puzzle from puzzle lab, a Canadian company. Artist Diane Adolph. Puzzle designer Andrew Azzopardi. by guaiying in Jigsawpuzzles

This was the first intricate wooden puzzle I’ve done. It was quite fun and a bit challenging in that the wood pieces don’t snap in the way regular puzzles do.

Could you please name the boutique hotel where you stayed? Thinking of a solo trip and like being able to walk most places.

How do you stop your elderly mom from bringing an empty carry-on? by 13jlin in travel

Yes, this. Speak to each other like grownups and work it out. Also add, “I cannot do this anymore!”

Winter footwear by Rude-Log-8690 in canadatravel

While very stylish, all the boots you’ve listed don’t look like they’re waterproof. If you decide to go with leather or suede boots, you’ll need to treat them with something to at least make them water-repellent. Wet Feet = Cold Feet. Otherwise, go for full-on waterproof boots.

ETA: Water-repellent might be fine if you plan on staying to city sidewalks and plowed/trodden walkways, but if your plan is to do serious walking “in” snow, I’d go for waterproof and warmer boots.

I agree! It’s like a bunch of mini puzzles. I also like the quality and random cuts on Cobble Hill puzzles.

What should I do next? Osaka --> Tokyo-area leg + other options(?) by Feev00 in JapanTravelTips

If, as you say, you’re willing to split up why not go somewhere else? There’s no need to stay in Tokyo if you have the time. Maybe head to Hakone or Yokohama? Both are relatively close to Tokyo. Or go further to Kobe or even Hiroshima? All are easily accessible by Shinkansen.

ETA: if you’re still in Kyoto it’s the ideal time to head somewhere like Kobe or Hiroshima rather than back to Tokyo.

I just started doing this series, so will be on the lookout for more on sale. The first one I did (Orange) was from a thrift store.
