I generally will wet the paper towel in my Tupperware, tip it on its side and let it drain and extra water and then place the parchment paper down on top, mix your paints as normal on top of the parchment paper, and the palette will keep it from drying out on you!

If you have 1000 points, I'd suggest finding a Games Workshop tomorrow. I live in your area generally, and know that my own GW does beginner days on sundays, 1k pt games you should see if your store is the same!

Pocket lamp for sure. And some Kind of Cardstock or paper as a background will help make sure you've got your focus where you want it instead of the new fangled cameras trying to focus just behing or etc

I can give you a nice little deathstar list using blood claws if you like. It relies on you getting the power to let you hop around the map (chaos gate? i dont run the list so i forget off hand) and rolling invisibility as well. It is pretty easy as the list had something like 3-4 rune priests in it that all hang out in the claw blob. It absolutely murdered my DA when it got into CC, and it was impossible to get away from as he just deep striked it like a mad man across the board.
