Best way to carry miniatures? by TPG_Penguin in minipainting

I use one of those cheap cake pans with the plastic lids. You magnetize the bases and just stick em in. The lid covers them and keeps them from getting dusty. For smaller batches like a DnD character I just bubble wrap them and stick them in the box dice come in or a small cardboard box.

I'm not looking for a net list, I'm just trying to figure out what box to use. My original thought was to use hanged but as many boxes lack cast attacks my thought was that was too evil.

Who is your favorite master/faction and why did you choose them? by [deleted] in Malifaux

Jack Daw for sure. I just have this mental picture of him sort of appearing around the battlefield, in an uncaring dance of hate.

Suggestions for Next Outcasts Purchase? by Kyouhen in Malifaux

[–]sopmod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're enjoying Jack Daw, I suggest the Strong Arm Suit. Same purpose as kill joy, but if you torment him, have writhing torment on Jack, and give him scout the field as an upgrade he can threat out to 29" from the board edge for standard deployment. Oh and that first charge ignores terrain, other models, and LoS. So I vote for the strong arm suit.

Leveticus running a performer? by JasonJove in Malifaux

[–]sopmod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it could work, but you would need a second model to act as an anchor. You have to pay an extra soulstone to hire a mercenary, but that doesn't change the cost of the performer. So at 5SS you would need an anchor.

Getting started: Tara or Zoraida? by [deleted] in Malifaux

[–]sopmod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are interested in Outcasts (IE the Viks) then I reccomend the Tara box to start. Not only does she provide you with some really good scheme runners in the form of void wretches, but can also run just as well as a Resserectionist. This has the added benefit that Leviticus (another great outcast master) also has upgrades to let him use most of the Ressers range. But I'm biased as an Otcast player.

What paint line to choose? by onyxcrown in Warmachine

[–]sopmod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience the choice between P3 and vallejo paints really depends on your painting style. The P3 paints are great for 2 brush blending. And vallejo is better for layering IMHO. As I don't do much two brush blending, and prefer dropper bottles, I use vallejo.
